This would work if the car was stopped on an incline! I got you.

let me know how it works out -- and especially if it solves your problem. try it even if you think you're not on an incline....you may be able to get just enough movement to help the shift smooth out.

Whatever you do, Don't put Royal Purple in your tranny. Use Redline MT90.

when my last trans was going bad, I'd have SERIOUS trouble getting it to shift down into 2nd...

Same here. 1st->2nd can be quite.. clunky. Fluid change really didn't do anything. Dealer says it's within norm.

Yes, my '04 6-speed crunches a bit on the 1st to 2nd shift, but mine does it hot or cold. Through experimentation I have found that pushing the clutch pedal to the floor an instant before throttle lift minimizes the crunch. Also, I have found that revving to higher RPM's while in 1st gear also helps. In fact, the harder I drive the car, the better the tranny works. Conclusion: the 8 was made to be driven, not babied.

yeah I get that when it's cold just hold ur clutch in an extra second or 2 for the first couple of shifts and it doesn't do it....once it's warm it all goes away and easy as a hot knife through butter
