Talking Does anyone regret NOT getting the App. package?

I'm contemplating whether to get an RX-8 and will be test driving one soon. My aunt is offering me her 2004 Nissan 350Z(which I may gladly take) cause she feels it isnt a daily driver. I also like the 01-04 Mustang GT's as well as the 01-04 Lexus Is300's. EXCUSE ME FOR GETTING OFF SUBJECT. Anyway, does anyone feel they should have gotten the App. package, if you havent? I dont know, but as a personal feeling, the RX-8 to me feels it lacks something without the app. package...
Is it worth the extra $970? Or are you just happy without it? Thanks to all who can give honest opinions.

It's more like $750 (dealer invoice). I actually wanted to get it added to my car, but the dealer wanted $1300 installed.

I don't regret it - while the app package is nice, the plastic bits are pretty small and hardly worth the cost of admission. In a year or two you will find a LOT of aftermarket body kits for the RX-8. I can wait until I see one that I really like.

Also, you can sub the rear splash guard for the rear app and save a few hundred dollars.

I didn't think the expense or loss of clearance was worth it. I still feel that way.

No, can't say that I do. The only part I like is the front air dam, but I can't justify the price for that small addition.

It's weird...I do like the way it looks with it, but I love how smooth and classy my Black looks without any spoilers of anykind. I've decided if and when I do add a spoiler, it will be the UK decklid lip spoiler....very subtle but unique.

i got the appearance package for the air dam, i think they should have an air dam and spoiler package, because they really bring out a good look for the car

I wouldn't pay the extra money, though I like it better. I measured with and without, and the appearance package gives 2" more clearance than the mudguards!!!

1st of all--if you are being given a 350Z take it and run--if you don't like that then trade it in on the RX8 or those other choices. Me I have the Mudguards and don't miss the appearance package. I do have the spoiler tho; I usually don't like add ons like that--My 3rd Gen didn't have any-no spoiler or front airdam--it looked much classier that way. Its personal choice--but I definately wouldn't pay extra for it. The Mazdaspeed Body kit is badass though--hopefully the one we finally get will have muscle to back it up.

I don't think it's worth it... My car has the spoiler and the mud guards and it looks nice like that. Plus, one can buy just the front air dam for less the $350.

I wasn't planning on getting it, as all I really wanted was the spoiler and rotary accents, but the only vehicle in the area with all the options I wanted already had the appearance package so I took it. Now that I have it, I know I would never have been happy without it. A lot of people also thought the rotary accents were not worth it, but I think they make a world of difference. I love them. The only other thing I plan to add are fender strakes. I could live without them, and a bit pricey, but I think they look sweet. Also, of all the RX-8's I have seen in the area, none have had them so it would be a bit unique. When you're talking about $30K what's another few hundred bucks if you really like it.

I agree with navilesrx8, but I do have the spoiler. It took me a month to find one with all the options except the appearance kit. I think it looks more streamlined and unique without the kit.

I like it with the appearance package. 8s without it now look naked to me. And despite rumors to the contrary, the air dam doesn't lower the clearance by that much- maybe a half inch at the most.

I actually DO regret getting the app package because of all the body kits out there.

I agree 100%, but my 8 is Silver. I just like the clean lines better. I was thinking about the lip spoiler as well, but I have no regrets passing on the appearance package.

At my dealership, they had the rx-8 in the same color both with and without the "appearance package," and I chose the one without it simply because I liked the cleaner look. You can't go wrong either way though. In the end, you're buying the car for you, not for the other people looking at it.

no.
almost bought one with, but waited for plain.
now, the side skirts look like cheap add ons to me...not to cut anyone down who likes them...
i may get the mazdaspeed sides and front because it looks authentic.
still love the 8 just as it is.

Different strokes........... for me I like the cleaner look, but the car with the package is simply hot as well.

Front air dam is awesome, but my side aero flares are getting beat up. It might be time for MS sideskirts!

how bout this: take the z your aunt is trying to force on you, give it to me and i'll give you the $1k to pay for the appearance pkg AND i'll pay for any damages from reduced clearance you incur for the next five years. that's a great deal!! think it over. i'll be in touch.
