Does this combination exist?

Does this combination exist?
I've been lurking around at the dealership. Talked to some saleman (don't really like dealing with them. Plus they don't know anything) and the guy didn't give me a positive answer. But my question is, I'm looking for a sport package (w/o sunroof) but with navigation. Does this option available?
Second question: I thought the sport package only come with out sunroof? But I read a few people listed their "with" it. and last question: will sport package be available with leather?....Thanks for any info.

The Sport Package does not have the Bose stereo or the Sunroof.
The only package available at this time with leather is the Grand Touring package.

Get the sports package. You can get the NAV as option if you really want it. Your dealer can work with an aftermarket leather place to get you leather seats/door trim if you really want that too. If they say they can't walk away and go to a different dealer.

Sport you cannot get leather (You can get custom leather for about $1k). But you do get traction control and Xenon lamps.
The moonroof and NAV are both options. The NAV will be hard to get without the Grand Touring (GT) package. The GT is considered the top/luxury pkg and will be hard to get NAV in Sport pkg since NAV is considered a luxury item to most. NAV is $2k extra moonroof is several hundred (from what I remember!).

Try this: go to MazdaUSA.com and configure an 8 the way you want. If the option is available on a given package, the site will let you choose it.

nippontoy, If you know what packages and options you want, there is no need for you to do the searching. I have walked into a dealership many times and told them excatly what I wanted and they have searched online through their dealer network to find my exact car and bring it to their delaership for me. If the dealership you went to really wants your business, they will extend this service to you as well.

Can dealerships put in requests to Mazda for cars with specific options? In other words, can you order exactly what you want through a dealer, or does the car you want have to exist on a dealer's lot?

You can search dealer inventory yourself at http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/vlSt...hicleCode=RX8.

Tip if you're going to look at the inventory through the Mazda website--you can't search by option package. You pick the color and transmission you want and it lists all the cars. To find the car you want, look at the MSRP.
I'm looking for the same combination (Sport + Nav). The MSRP for that is $29,880. Out of the 150+ units in my area, there isn't a single one, thought there is a Nav without sport ($28,680). Sport alone is $27,880.
Also, others say the online inventory isn't 100% accurate.

A couple of tips from my search for an 8 ....
The inventory on www.mazdausa.com is not necessarily what is IN STOCK at the dealer. I found this out by looking for a car with specific options that I was interested in, and calling dealers to verify they had them in stock. I learned that some are in stock, some are en-route to the dealer, some are at the port, and some haven't even been built!!
When I ordered my car (this past Tuesday), I specified what I wanted, and they told me it would take up to 12 weeks. I was willing to wait, so we started filling out the paper work. It happened to be my lucky day -- a Mazda rep walked in the door as we were placing my order (they supposedly visit each dealer once per week). He overheard our conversation and made a phone call to the port (Jacksonville, FL) to see if they had a car matching my specs. They did! A couple of port-installed options later, and I should be getting my 8 in about 2 weeks (instead of 12!).
One other tip ... prices on www.mazdausa.com do NOT include the $520 destination charge. If you option-out a car on other web sites (edmunds.com, carsdirect.com, etc.), most include the fee, so add $520 to the number you see on mazdausa.com to compare apples to apples.
