Well since I got the car whenever i run over a lil bump my cd always skips. I hate that **** even when i cross lane and hit the road marker it will skip sometimes is this how the cd player is very sensivtive or is it deffective? by the way mostly on burnt cds!

never happened to me, i got an 04. Umm, i only play burned cd's on my car. I think its defective so just go back to the dealership and let them know about the problem. Cd players shouldnt be that sensitive.

burnt cd's, by nature, aren't sealed the way that the industy seals manufactured CDs...therefor, they start to get worse after a short amount of time.
Try a CD that's not burnt...if problems still pursist after awhile, it may actaully be the CD player then. Give it a run, and worst case, take it in for service.

Mine are all burnd and they don't skip. Sounds like a defective player. Put an Alpine in my wife's Tribute and it skipped on every manhole cover. Had the same Alpine in my old car and it never skipped. Replaced with a Pioneer that doesn't skip.
Although burning at a slower speed is a good idea, it does not sound like this is your problem.

Now if by throwing in the term "electrons", you were somehow managing to incorrectly correlate the comparison in that stamped CD's have an extra layer presurved in acrylic as opposed to the dye layer that a CD-R contains ON TOP of the polycarbonate plastic and aluminum (which are reversed to that of a stamped CD)...then maybe I just don't know what i'm talking about.
However, your revelation might also be imposing reference of the phase-changing compound compressed between 2 di-electric layers which are capable of changing between translucent crystalline and amorphous fluid when stimulated, then heated by a laser. This would comprise what we have come to know as a CD-RW.
Guess I just don't know anything about CDs though.
Electrons what?

i talked to a car audio guy about this because mine also does this he said that the little shock thing that keeps them from skipping is dry so it doesnt get the full shock absorbtion and skips.
have an audio guy look at it if its dried which its not supposed to be go to the dealer and see if they will replace it

I'm a skipper, too! My '04, single cd player will always hiccup when I hit a big bump, and even sometimes when I hit one of those reflectors when just lane-changing. Other times, I can't make it skip to save my life. Store-bought or burned cds seem to make no difference.
