I almost bought a really sweet 300zx that seemed to good to be true. And it was as soon as they told me they were overseas and couldn't show me the car anytime soon etc etc..... then i figured out the same car was listed in every major city across the country. I later found that car belonged to an owner on a Z forum who had his pictures taken.

So smart move to ask on this forum if it is anyone's car.

Basically you can inquire about it, but as soon as they say they are overseas, or if you have to pay anything before you can see it, or they can't come up with a title, run run run run run! You might also want to try getting the Vin number, see if the one they gives you matches the year this one is listed as. Also you could get a car facts with the vin and see if the color, options etc match. Sorry it probably is going to be too good to be true.....or really really broken.....or it is stolen.

No phone number, scam. And actually read the options, half of them aren't whats on the car. Its the cars specs copyed and pasted.

I'd dealt with so many people like that, they will want paypal and the car will be shipped to you.

Come on dude.

Yup when I was looking for my eclipse a few years ago I found a really nicely priced 2g GSX. I emailed the guy and he told me it was in a garage in Las Vegas and as soon as he got the money he would ship the car. What I want to know is do people actually fall for this kind of ****?

Tell the seller you are overseas and request him to ship it COD. Offer them 10% fee for their inconvenience.

Scam. I grew up in Reston and lived in California for a couple of years - those pics were not taken in Reston. Now that by itself doesn't mean it's a scam, but it doesn't help the shady ad.

scam, when i bought my 8 i actually had someone come at me with a ebay/western money transfer scam. was well put together, even had the number go to a fake ebay help line, but when they only ask 4500 for a 10k rx8, it kinda shines through. but it was well put together. basic principal, if it's to good to be true, it is.

^^ Everyone is such a skeptic. . . I'm sure its fine, you could probably just US Mail the seller some cash and it'll work out fine.

If you can't trust random postings on the internet, what can you trust?

I'd start a correspondence with the seller and if it started to really scream scam I do like pdxhak said and have some fun with it haha.

SCAMMM!!!!!!
This happened to me before... I was about to buy one for 6500$ and the pictures showed a navigation system. But they told me there wasnt one and asked me for a wiretransfer or whatever you called it.
As soon as they did that I forgot about it.

LOL, those pics were definitely not taken by him.

Even if the price was that low, it must have been totaled before.

lol, i'll contact them. I pass reston daily so I'll see what they say to a viewing.

I am curious how someone who used to live in Reston can deduce that those pics are not in Reston? explain this please. I've been in Reston a lot over the years and there is nothing in the pics that say it is or isn't really Reston.
