Don't feel bad

For all of us who have rust on our brake rotors don't feel bad.. I just got back from the Charlotte International Auto Show and they had a white 8 there.......All four rotors had rust on them. Guess its not just a disease for cars on the road. Even show cars aren't immune to it..... :p

The only time I really saw rust on my car was when it was raining pretty hard at night. I was merging between two highways and was concentrating on the minivan on my left that wouldn't let me in. It wasn't until my friend screamed STOP when I realized there was a motorcycle in front of me going about 40...and it wasn't until then that I truly appreciated these brakes. Probably wore out half the rotor when I floored the brake pedal, because the next morning it was still raining, and rust galore, all four brakes...

I don't know what the big deal is - cast iron rotors show rust spots when they get wet and the car is sitting. My MP3 does it all the time.

They aren't talking about the rust on the area of the rotors that the brakes touch (this happens on every car in a matter of hours), they are talking about rust on the center area of the rotor that appears coated in a silver spray.

Guys....the rotor's are metal and metal rusts'. Drive the car hard and eliminate the rust. That's what I do.
