Door Skin = New Door

I've been told that Mazda no longer stocks the RX8 driver or passenger door skin as a separate part. They still have a separate part number for it but it dumps you into a new door assembly. So if you crunch your door, be prepared to pay. Noticed also that they have two door numbers based on VIN. Why is that?

will check my estimating software tomorrow and let you know if the door repair panel (the "skin") is still available. Just updated the software, so it should be accurate.

Waht you using Mitchell or CCC? I used to do that before transfering to the service dept.

My company uses Mitchell. Not as thorough as CCC (Mitchells doesn't show things like deductions for refinishing for adjacent panels) but it gets the job done.

Whoops, forgot to look it up. Will do it tomorrow.

Sweet, just in time for the door smashing break-in trick to make its way to the cokehead crowd.
