Was wondering if you guys leave dsc on or off when driving?

Also, ( i know it's off topic). I was wondering how hard it would be to have the car automactially lock when you start driving and unlock automactically upon key removal.

I just ask cause i got so used my previous car doing this and my wifes car does the same thing.

Thanks!

well, I don't have DSC . . . so off.

I was wondering though, you like the automatic door locks? Four years into the ownership of her jaguar S-Type and my mother still can't get used to it. It also drives me nuts, and I consider it the worste feaure of an otherwise rather nice car. What do you get out of it?

Well, its supposed to lock as soon as you put it into a drive/reverse gear. And unlock when it's positioned in "parking". pretty good feature IMO

Hmmm, but what happens if you crash your car and have to get out in a hurry and it DOESN'T unlock?

Yeah, I know what it is supposed to, but why is it good? I find that all that happens is every time I go to open the door, I end up having to stop, unlock and try it again. I forget to unlock the door when people get in. I move the car across the driveway, and I have to unlock the car again. It just annoys me this way, and I see no up side at all.

What is good about a car being locked while I am driving?

well here's what i'm talking about, in my previous car, when you travel above 8mph it locks automatically. you pull twice on the door and the door opens (even when it's locked). you pull once it just unlocks it. when you get out of the car to drop someone off and your car starts moving again it locks again. as for the crashing... my previous car will automically turn on its hazzard ligths and unlock on an impact.

if you have NAV, it'll even send your location in case your knocked out from the accident.

What is your previous car? My experience with auto-locking has not been so user friendly. I'm not trying to be objectionable. I'm just trying to get my head around what the good of being locked in the car while driving is. I'm sure that there are good reasons, but noone has ever vocalised them for me.

This is also the last time I will post on this. I've been highjacking your thread, and I don't want to do that. Many apologies. - H

I had a 328i, and all these are friendly cause they were all programmable and i believe per key also. so i can choose to have it or not... there are many other things that are programmable with the key like daytime running light etc...

no prob about posting, i'd like to get as much feedback as possible
