Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think our stability control program (DSC) doubles as traction control (TCS). They have same sensors and means, but the program goals for the two systems are quite different.

Try howstuffworks.com or wikipedia for the narrative.

You do have a very good point there. I shouldn't be encouraging people to leave it off. It's there for a reason. I have never turned mine off and never will.

GT & Sport(I belive) has DSC. the button is located on the lower left portion of the dash.. Open the drivers door and take alook. If you can find your trunk release you can find the DSC button.

I lied this is my last contribution. Insurance companies are not going to deny a claim due to DSC. How do I know this? I am an agent. Great topic. Guess I better go add DSC to my 400hp rx7 since it doesn't have it and I will die driving it.

Seriously, I agree that it's a nice safety device, but I've made it 37 years as either a passenger or driver without it.

To each his own. Agree to disagree, and all that. "The Dude abides". LOL
I look at it like I look at seatbelts and airbags ... it is highlevel safety gear and it clearly works.

I came within millimeters of dying in a crash in 1986 and the only thing that saved my *** was a seatbelt. I will never drive without one.

My wife was in a huge collision in 1995 that would have taken her life but for the driver's side airbag. I will not drive a car without them.

And DSC has saved my *** enough times in two cars of having it, that will never have a car without it.

At least the DSC has the ability to disable it.

Yes, we agree we disagree. I do drive without it engaged, but only in specific circumstances, and in specifc, controlled places.
