Dudewtf./Possible heat issue.

Car is starting to act up again. Same sh** different day. This all started when it was like 105 degree's outside, since that really hot day it's been going crazy again. Over heating maybe? I don't know...It was about that hot today and was doing the same thing, car was fine until yesterday in that hot weather...what the hell is going on! Symptons are as follows:

Rough idle, delayed gear up/down shifting, loud knocking noise when idling and delayed throttle response when at a dead stop. Not to mention what feels like a loss of power.

This will be my fourth time this has happend, I've had it at the dealership 3 times before this...I'm about to go crazy

What should I do I don't want to take it back to the dealership....Because they've failed to fix it 3 times before so I don't think the fourth will be any different.

Should I take it somewhere else to have a second opinion or go up to the dealership and say "WTF MATE!"

I don't get this...what the hell is wrong with my car...You'd think after taking it to the dealership thrice it would be fixed right?

Stupid questions...
- Are you giving it 91 octane?
- Have you checked the oil?

I just got my RX-8, so I'm a newbie. It's been very hot where I am, too (but probably not as hot as your experiencing). I popped the hood on an RX-8 to show some workmates. I never did that sort of thing with my old beater (a '93 Nissan Altima), so I don't know if it was normal or the hot weather or if the RX-8 runs extra hot, but the first thing I noticed was that the hood was scalding hot just to lift.

if the problems really are that bad, i'd be hauling to a different dealer for sure. Tell um to run a vacuum test. Engine sounds like it's about to be overhauled to me. That's pretty severe to be something very minor.

Report old dealer to Mazda. Find another dealer.

It's the heat Shini. Mine does it over 95 and or long cruise over 90. Report the old dealer and find a new one X2. Do your best to keep it cooler by cruising in low gear and avoid heavy traffic.

Try some of the cooling mods on the forum. like: Water Wetter; remove rear hood weather strip and replace with 1 inch rubber spacers to help air flow out of engine compartment; take control of the fans away from the ECU with an added switch.

Oh, and pray for rain to cool things down
