My car runs fine, the car doesnt stall or any thing but there is hesitation, shaking at a light esp if if I take off and dont warm it up. But I took it to the dealer and they said it had bad compression. I would like to get the fuel injectors tested. But the other big sign is if I have the car on for a bit 10-15 min and I try to turn it on again it wont start until it cools off. Like 10min. Its that what you experienced? Could that affect the compression. I dont know about the compression but IF a fan is a contributor could that be the reason? Btw which fan was that exactly?
* Thanks for the reply though I appreciate it.
I was having the trouble with the car not starting till it cooled off. I was also told that is was because my compression test was low. I had the engine rebuilt but still experience the problem of it not turning on till cool down. It was the cooling fan on tbe driver side. Not the AC fan. It believe it was told to me the due to a shortage in the fan the computer would not alow the car to start because it was to hot. But anyway changing the cooling fan on the driver side sovled that problem. Is it directly related to the compression test. I don't know for sure but I believe my only problem from the beginning was just the fan.
As told to me "The unit is a double fan on one plastic housing That goes all the way across the radiator. The radiator and Ac condenser have to be removed to install the fan."
Mazdafan1892, I feel your pain I was once in that situation.
* The low compressions score has nothing to do with the Fan or anything electrical.
* Your engine returned low compression and that's the main issue here.
* The cooling Fan may or may not be an issue.
Here is what I suggest;
Drive it throughout the winter, when you make a stop for gas and etc, pop your hood so it cools off quicker.
ALso, get an upgraded starter if you haven't already.
Upgraded starter will only mask the low compression for a few months (7-9 months tops based on my experience)
Now, you mentioned engine was replaced 6 years ago and haven't been driven much?
You need to find out what caused it to die so soon.
Perhaps, bad coils, plugs and wires lead to cat being clogged and that led to your engine die a slow death..
Rebuild could cost you anywhere from $2500 upto 6K depending on who do you go to and what you get done. YOu might wanna check up Rotary Resurrection, Pettit, Pineapple racing and some other rebuilders in vendor section.. Rotary Resurrection by far has the most competitive pricing.
And Again like advised earlier, read the stickies, "New and Potential Owner" thread is filled with tremendous wealth of knowledge. Everything you need to know is there.
When performing an oil change, how do you keep oil from dripping down the side of the engine when pulling off the oil filter? Rags dont ever seem to catch it all...
How do people do this? I cant find a thread about it because i do not even know how to name it lol
Is it just a bulb? I seen a G35 with red ones that still seem as though they are glowing at night TURNED OFF

Thanks a bunch for the information. they did just replace the radiator so I wonder if they kinked something. I WILL look into it. Thanks!

All the best my friend
I strongly feel it is a internal engine problem, esp cause its a remain engine. I havent driven it much to be honest. I drive it to and from work and before school too. Whenever it was sitting here and there I did warm it up and redline it at least once a week, switched to top tier gas last year, Thanks a bunch to both. Best of luck to you both with your Rx-8s!

I'm curious where the, "they use poor judgement" came from ?
Isn't it all personal opinion?
Personally I like the demon eyes (halo) when done correctly..
I fully plan on doing it myself.
Travis
I didnt do it personally knowing myself id f*ck it up lol but my buddy blacked out the trim except for the HighBeam Reflector added a halo and a blue LED inside when parking lights are on turns off when low beams are turned on! i love them
I just bought a 2007 Rx-8 Sport trim about three weeks ago. Only got one transponder key, no remote transmitter. I want to get one (I'm assuming it's a switchblade but I could be wrong);I called Mazda and they literally knew 0 about my FCC/KPU#, so now I have no idea how to get it without having the original. Anyone have any ideas what they could be or how else I can find out? [: thanks!

If all you want is the fob with a spare door key, you can try The Remote Superstore on the web.
The only thing i dont like about my 8 is my Key... i have the credit card thingy. ive alrady had to buy 2 and there not cheap. I went to the dealer to see if i could get a spare key made with a FOB they said sure... Comes back 30 mins later saying it wont fit and not long enough. they said id have to replace the entire ignition system for it to work. waste of an hour. i called them on the phone prior to go and they said it would be good. they should of told me before i came down. So im stuck having to pull the key out of the card to start it everytime. sooo annoying but whatever i drive an RX8 (not at the moment since it 2600 miles away from me) /end rant

I was looking to get the original key it would have come with if I bought it new. Like I said, I'm assuming it's the switchblade-type. I found a few replacements with uncut keys on eBay, but it's saying the KPU & FCC #s have to match. ): If Mazda couldn't tell me, I'm not sure who can.

'Mazda' has told a lot of people a lot of stuff.
You asked a question, you dismissed the answer.
I got mine from them, right numbers the first time, no problem.
The only thing I would ever buy off eBay is the Sohn kit, only because that's the only place they sell it.

Search the forum with the keyword: "Switchblade" and you will find your codes. I do not know on top of my head but the info and instructions are all in there.
eBay is where I purchased all my switchblade FOBs and the blank keys.

Confirming these are illegal, as are the blue, in many/most states. Red and Blue lights visible from the front of the car are reserved for emergency vehicles and is some cases, road maintenance. Will you be stopped? Maybe. In my state occasionally there are enforcement pushes. Usually by an agency's traffic unit and/or State Patrol who specialize in traffic enforcement. I say this because there are always guys who post up that they've been running them for (insert time period here) and never had a problem. It's a roll of the dice. How lucky do you feel?
