Not a dumb question I suppose but unfortunately I've searched for days on this and can't find even a similar issue. I can't start my own post like I really feel I need to as I need advice very much. I swapped in a series 2 trans into a 2006 gt along with a racing beat flywheel and exedy stage one clutch (supposedly the newer version without the issues) replaced throw out bearing and pilot too. On start up the clutch pedal immediately looses pressure. I replaced the entire hydrolic system. Master to slave every line too. Bleed the whole system. Has great pressure when car is not running, start it up clutch stats on floor, no pressure. Shut the car off pump clutch a few times and the pressure returns. I'm at a loss. Sorry if I revived an old post and I'm really hoping to get this seen. I wanted to create a new post but could not yet, but still need the experrt advice I've gleaned through on many occasion just couldn't find any for this. Thanks very much in advance.

[QUOTE=jer2911;4847256]Have you looked at the foxed.ca website? You can access the rx8 service manuals there.[/QUOTE. I have not cheeked out the website, but I do own the Factory Service Manual on disc. I never considered it may have a troubleshooting guide, I used the transmission manual religiously during the swap but only looked at the diagrams and torque specs. I'll take a look. Thank you.
Still hoping to hear from someone who had this problem and solved it though. Maybe I'm the first and then I'll be the guy to help lol.

I more than likely have, the link isn't working but I will search for it using the key words. I compared the part number of mine to the clutch kit with all the problems and I recall it being different though. Mine is10813. Full part number:12651 10813.
I have a new update though. I pumped the clutch with the car running and it built pressure. It took a bit of pumping to do it though. Then if I touch the throttle I get throw out bearing noise and loose clutch pressure. This is while in netreul off clutch. Push clutch in I can rev it to my heart's content. In gear it squeals and looses pressure around 3000 rpm. I'll look for that thread again, thank you.

I may have a huge problem my transmission may be going. I pray to God no! I already replaced the engine like a year an a half ago. Anyways I noticed like I said above to Loki, when I turn on my car I notice a slight funny sound the second after it turns over. Like a second grind. Then I notice when I am stationary and I turn it on and I back out or drive forward and lightly tap the gas, I hear a funny sound like a metal rattle. Its very faint. The last thing is I noticed when I shift the gear from park to drive I am now hearing another funny sound. Like when I turn on the car. A couple of weeks ago I heard sounds coming from the engine bay. I wonder if that was the transmission. No codes when I scanned it. My mechanic said he scanned it...idk but I didnt mention transmission at the time.
This may be another stupid question but right before one turns on their car when the dash is litup(you know key in, first click, second click, then the third you turn on). I am talking about the second click, ACC I think. The engine, the battery, and the Power steering light comes on but as soon as I turn on the car it goes away.
The dealership said they changed the transmission fluid when they put in the new engine. I call bullshit on that but I have to check the fluid in a little bit. I also had the rear diff fluid changed too by Mazda.

I am still wondering if there is a transmission issue based on the symptoms I mentioned above but as for the lights coming up in the ACC, I found out its just a system check. That being said when I turn to the ACC, not all the warning/indicator lights come up for a system check. Is that something to be concerned about?

Hi can someone please respond asap. I just checked the transmission fluid. To me it looks too low according to the manual. I felt something was up. It is reading less than 20 degrees C. I am not sure how it can be that low when I they told me they changed it less than 2 years ago and I noticed no leaks. Anyways I also found something else underneath my rx8. Please see the attachment. Thanks bros I hope you guys are having a better New Years Eve than me.

^ Manual transmission or auto?
Need better photos. No way to tell what that is from the photo provided. It could be a cover or shield hanging down. It could be that you picked up a road gator.

Auto. Also more images. THANK YOU SO MUCH for replying. By the way those pics were taken when the car was at operating temperature. When it was heated up.

I pray this is all resolved tomorrow. I wonder if the low tranny oil had been the cause of the sounds I have been hearing when the car turns on and when I pull off. IDK, thank you for replying. Happy New Year.

Thank you for replying. I will get the trans fluid inspected. I noticed on the old shirt I have the small little blots it looked reddish but I will get it looked at. I am VERY scared to have the fluid changed as sometimes people mentioned that it may screw up the tranny if it is a bad tranny. As for the part I will try to pull it out.

The air pump bearings are commonly noisy after a while

when you start the car does it make a whining/grindy noise that goes away after the car warms up? If it does disconnect the air pump plug and see if it stops. ( on the passenger side strut top...big black/red connector)

The sound that comes up when turning on lasts for like 1 second, at the end of when I start it up, it sounds like a slight grind. Which I hope it isnt the transmission but I heard a similar sound shifting from Park to D drive. I dont know how long its been low the tranny oil. The dealership told me they changed it when they put the new engine in. Like 1.5 years ago. (Shaking my head). Last week it sounded like it was coming from the engine bay like my car was going to shut off before I got home but it mostly went away. Idk, I always try to keep my car in good maintenance. I have been to the dealership couple of different times since then for recalls. No one mentioned anything recently. Including my mechanic, I asked him to scan it with a high powered scan too, I bet he didnt.
Thank you again for all your help.

That body brace sits farther back than what you have pictured. I don't think that's it, but I guess it could have become mangled and picked up while in reverse. I don't recognize the pictured part, but I've never been under an auto trans car before.

That looks to me like the upper exhaust heat shield. Not sure how it ended up like that, since the lower is still in its place, but you say it has had the engine out. It's not suuuuper important, and they commonly fall off in areas with winter, but not having it allows the exhaust to heat the floor of your car. Not great.

By the way does anyone know how long it takes to install a transmission on a Rx-8?

Looking at it on a better screen, it's definitely just the heatshield. Nothing to worry about, just get it removed. Everything else looks fine, including the tranny pan. It'll bang around as you drive, that's probably the bangs and clunks you've been hearing. I highly doubt the insurance will or can do anything for this, it's not damage, just wear. Those heatshields rust off eventually. Everything else looks fine in that picture, no damage.
Get the fluid replaced and enjoy the car, everything is fine.
Check your glovebox for a baggy of big rubber plugs, they're supposed to go into the oval hole you see in foreground of your underside picture.

I am dying to find out how it runs with the tranny fluid back in. I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I KNOW my car. I dont claim to know anything, I just know when something feels off with it.
