Thanks for the input of you both, yes in this case I was looking for the S1 5 speed since I'm getting my hands on a imported one, as the transmission I have now will not very much appreciate the torment of the Brettus turbo setup I'm installing with my 400whp goal.
Thank you! What do you mean unscrew? The key looks like this one, not the flip one.
On the end with the hole for the keyring, there's an indentation you can pry with the key or screwdriver, it pops open. I just checked mine and it takes a CR2025
My '04 is not cracked.
Maybe it will, maybe it won't, but after 20 years, who can say?
It's best not to speak in absolutes when it comes to RX8s.
If anything, they're random, hit and miss when it comes to most issues.
They're not like Ford or GM mass produced assembly line cars.
That is unusual to have it 20 years without any cracks in the drivers side . Mine is 15 years old and just started to crack, and It is garaged out of the heat and sun of Texas. It is a known occurrence. Best of luck to you. I know of no others as old as yours that have not cracked, Cheers
Not sure why mines not cracked (2010) with all the abuse my clumsy twin teenagers dole out as their gangly bodies attempt entry. How do they manage to kick it so many times?!!?

Exactly my timetable on 07 RX8 left under canopy in West Tx for 16 years.
Again, very rare.
There is no consensus on how to prevent it from happening. Hit or miss what quality of foam you got during the manufacture of your car's dash pieces .So many variables of temperature , heat, cold, air quality , sunlight, UV rays, hard driving over rough or smooth roads, etc., that all affect the life of the foam in those dashes.
Here is a fix proposed instead of a more expensive full replacement. BUT NOTE: no testing has shown whether this cheaper fix will or wont block your airbags from properly deploying, so do this only at your own risk.
Where are the oil nozzles located in the series 1 and series 2 engines? I know that the series 2 engine has improved oiling and added a 3rd oil nozzle, where is that 3rd nozzle located, and why were the 2 on the original engine insufficient? Tried searching through the forum, but couldn't find a specific answer to this question.
I also know that the Sohn adapter used in the series 1 engine is not available for the series 2. Is that because the product was never made, or did the improved oiling system make the adapter obsolete?
My 07 6 speed auto never used much oil, so I started 1/2 ounce 2 stoke oil early on. I like this full syn Ravenol which cleans up dirty gas and oil additives. Don't worry about tinkering.
Oh boy. Glad you're up for restoring it, aside from the obvious, it looks in decent shape?
You can hose the dust off. Maybe not too much pressure at first, but as long as you're removing it without applying pressure and with lubrication (soapy water) you'll be fine.
I would drain the 6 year old gas and oil before starting. Battery might be dead as well. Can't comment on handles or window motors but if they're *both* broken are you sure it's the motors and not a fuse? I would check all fuses anyway.
Also check for obvious signs of animal nests under the hood and in the cabin filter area.
This helped a lot, Loki!! Thanks
I rinsed it all and washed it. It looks in good shape.
Also, the fuse for the power windows was blown (along with the lighter fuse)! But after changing it, the windows won't go up nor down.
I found new issues:
1- I cleaned the interior but the leather seats and components are showing spots, like fungus. What can I use to clean this? I have time and patience. Or should I just take it to a detailing shop? ( pic 1)
2- Small blobs appearing on the paint. any products or go to a body shop? (pic 2 and 3)
3- One of the headlights has the glass yellow, the other is clear. I've seen commercials on this. But, what's the best product to clean this? (pic 4)
4- The Driver side Visor is missing. I believe the part is here, but is it Left or Right? (pic 5) Thx for the help. https://www.realmazdaparts.com/v-200...rior-trim-roof
(I believe the color is diamond grey after doing vast research. So will order the door handles.)
Hi, I've been having an issue finding the source of an oil leak,
I'm not sure if its an OMP line or what, but there seems to be an oil leak coming from around the water pump housing, that leaks quite badly when high rpm. I don't think its the front mail seal throwing oil around as there the top of the engine bay is squeaky clean.
below I attached some pictures,
Edit: Pictures are from the bottom of the car
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You have your own thread on this, best to stick to there. You could trace your OMP lines, take the passenger side wheel off and look. You could also check around where the OMP mates to the block, in case the o-ring there is compromised. But I still think it's the front main, I have the same problem for years. It not bad under regular driving, but if you beat ok it, it will deposit a lot more oil on the water pump, block, steering rack, etc.

Yeah that looks like mold. I would take it to a detailer at that point, you can clean it with steam, but you have to be careful with steam and fabrics not to leave marks or unglue the fabric from what it's on, like the roof liner.
Those paint bubbles look like rust corrosion. Rock chips that grew in the humidity? Is that on the hood, roof or back doors? Those parts are aluminum so it's not rust, but you would treat it the same way, sand off the corrosion to clean metal and repaint. Might be easier to respray the whole panel than fixing them individually.
Plenty of headlight cleaning kits at most auto stores. They're all about the same, some sandpaper, abrasive cream and sealant.
Visors are left and right, yes. You can't interchange them.

Yours is the only 04 RX8 I know of that hasn't had a cracked passenger side dash. Your car must of gotten a better foam pour during dash forming. Best to you.

Mine is also fine. Spends most of her stationary life in the garage though

As I said above in post 7810, just after your post, mine isn't cracked either.
