Thanks for the input. No, no impacts or damage that I know of. I do mostly highway miles, and I haven't run over anything. I'm thinking that maybe getting the tires rotated might help rule out the tire noise, but I don't know what else to try after that if the noise doesn't move.

Pssh and 2006 and i dont believe so but 78k miles engine replaced at 69k

You might want to consider getting a compression test.
Do you have a mid-pipe?
Maybe your thinking the over-run sound on a high rpm shift is the turbo noise you mention.

Legend In My Own Mind
WellThen, you could have a bad tire so trying to rotate them to figure that part out would be good. I worked at Bridgestone for a couple years and tires would make some strange noises if the internal structure was jacked up at all. If it is a poorly made tire then you can usually get them replaced by the manufacturer as it is a safety issue.

That's a good question, and I don't think anyone could give a definite answer as there are many things that could affect your cat life. My current cat has been on my car for about 70,xxx miles and it's still good, and I'm sure there are people out there whose cat has lasted much longer. But definitely the OEM cat will most likely last longer than any aftermarket cat would.

Power Steering
My power steering goes out sometimes.. when it goes out while i'm driving it jerks the steering wheel and then it goes out. What do I need to do? Also sometimes when I come to a complete stop the car dies. I changed out the 2 of the spark plugs and got a new battery. My father is helping me get it fixed up. I bought in bad condition. The power steering has been like that since I got the car. The car dying sometimes started happening after I hydroplaned and ran over a curb.

As for the stopping - suggest full tune up replacing plugs.coils, leads , filter replace ,spray the maf CO contact cleaner . If that does nothing come back with some more specific details of the issue.

Look, im doing my research delicately and not just make/post some $hit up to **** you guys off.
in the NEWBIE post #9 it mention:
"E) Water/Meth injection. W/M injection is usually targeted almost entirely for forced induction as a safety margin by increasing the effective octane rating of the fuel. However it does have side benefits of producing remarkably clean engine internals. If you want to learn more, read up on this opening post on RX7Club: (Making The Case For The <Rotary> Powered FD: The Fix - RX7Club.com). Slightly different application and goal that the writer was going after, but still valuable nuggets in there for our engine's long term health. However, note that W/M is not legal everywhere, many racing organizations prohibit it, it usually requires some sort of tuning, and kits are usually set up to deliver under boost, which an N/A engine won't have. I don't know of anyone running W/M on an naturally aspirated Renesis for the purposes of cleaning only. I am very tempted to pursue this myself. W/M injection solves a few of the steam and seafoam treatment weaknesses, namely the inability to deliver either with the engine under full load while the car sits in your driveway. Injection also gets the intake valving that none of the other treatments do."
I just trying to compare the methods. It's a legitimate question, don't know why it would get some sparks out someone.
Water/meth injection kit for cleaning the engine: (I KNOW THERE AINT NO PISTONS IN THE ROTARY J@SSES)
AEM Water/Methanol Injection Kits - Water-Meth Injection Systems for Turbo/Super - Wideband O2 UEGO, Water/Methanol, Stand Alone Engine Management, Piggyback F/IC, Tru Boost Controller, Gauges, Automotive Performance Electronics
Clean Rotary engine using WD-40
I am just doing my best to come up with a plan to keep the engine in the best shape possible. don't see anything wrong with it.
since its in the newbie post, i can not be the only one that ask about it.
so anyone tried these methods?

Most of the methods have been tried. The problem with getting a clear answer is that no one really knows how effective any one method actually is. So any answer you get is going to be guesses and opinions. I added the water/meth injection to that thread because of the RX-7 club thread that I linked, and they posted proof. Pretty much the only way of confirming one method or another would be to get a borescope and take pictures of each rotor face before and after a treatment.
With 2 different service ports, you could even take before and after, but try a different method/liquid on each rotor to see what was more effective.
I am not aware of anyone actually providing this type of evidence yet, so if you take the initiative to try it, you would have quite a few interested people (and probably some naysayers and bashers mixed in)
And yes, plenty of people ask about the various methods of engine cleaning. And the problem is always that there isn't any proof of one method over another.

Radio display wiring schematic
Hi there! I have a 2004 mt touring edition and I had a lcd double din installed. Unfortunately it was stolen out of my vehicle and I am now trying to get the stock radio put back in. The radio works however the display is not working. The clip was not the right size so I went to the scrap yard and grabbed the display wire clip. Tried wiring it in but no luck. Can anyone help me??

Power steering is a common issue . There is a plug below the battery that can get contaminated by radiator water overflow. Suggest you unplug this and spray the crap out of it with CO contact cleaner and try again . If that doesn't work have a read up in this thread : https://www.rx8club.com/trouble-shoo...overed-107481/
As for the stopping - suggest full tune up replacing plugs.coils, leads , filter replace ,spray the maf CO contact cleaner . If that does nothing come back with some more specific details of the issue.

Thank you, I've cleaned it up and everything. I have yet to test it out. Also, I noticed how the radiator sits at an angle. Does the engine under cover play a big role in channeling the air through the radiator & condenser to prevent over heating in the summer? It looks as though without it you would not get enough air through it going down the road. The air would probably deflect off of the radiator and hit the road instead of channeling through and over the engine. Mine is severely damaged so I had to remove it after I hydroplaned and went over the curb.
