IIRC, the thermostat has 2 plates. When it's closed to the radiator it's open to the tb and as it begins to open to the radiator it closes to the tb.

Well I'm not sure if it completely blocks the flow or just restricts it. I can't recall.. I'm pretty sure it was MM saying that..

got a quick question here.
Ive been looking to do some cooling mods to hopefully save my engine..

I combo daily drive this car.. I also have a 06 suby i drive too. But I also will go do canyon driving or some track driving with my 8.

So far I have done:

Mishimoto Radiator
Mazmart Oil Pressure regulator and shims

Im planning on doing
Mazmart water pump
Mazmart thermostat
Upgraded SSV and Actuator (because mine makes that stupid noise)
Oil cooler hose kit

Is there anything im missing?

open up the splash shields in the wheel wells behind the oil coolers for better air flow. make sure oil cooler fins are straight and protect them with some screens if you havent already

Are screens available, or do they have to be fabricated?

racing beat sells oil cooler and ac condenser screens and theres other companies that do too. as far as the rears you would have to make them if you opened the splash shields too much. there was a thread on it years ago in the diy

another question from this guy.

Coilovers or lowering springs? I just want to lower my car a good bit, pretty low actually. Not looking for performance upgrades, just a lowered stance.

Also, didn't get a solid answer on the "Aggressive fitment thread thingy" how to I get an aggressive fitment? is there fabrication involved?

If you are looking for aggressive fitment. All you need are the proper wheels and tires, And a good set of COILOVERS. that is a decent place to start.

I used MEGAN Racing Coilovers my wheels are 19x9.5 +22 in the front and +12 in the rear. Getting your stance correct is all about your wheel OFFSET and WIDTH You do need a set of coilovers to get the height correct, after that it is adjusting all the components to come together to get the overall stance correct. This would include proper alignment and adjustments of lateral arms (if needed) A arms etc. or rolling or pulling or BOTH of your fenders. In my case. I just rolled my fenders with a slight pull and set my alignment with a -2.7 degree camber in the front and -3 camber in the rear. lowered and pre-loaded the coils and I'm happy where I am at.. I can go more positive camber in the front to fill out the wheel well a bit but I am ok for now..

pm j#s hes our fitment expert.

as far as suspension, whats your budget? yellows and s techs will get you about a 2" drop. if you want your car to be slammed and barely drivable get coilovers

My price range is anywhere from $100-$400 it kinda depends on how long I'm willing to wait and save lol.

WreakLoosE- That literally, is like French to me. lol, I have NO idea how to do any of that stuff!! I don't want to spend a few grand just to lower the car! If I am spending a few grand, it's in a turbo build.

no offense but if you dont understand any of what he said dont even think about going fi.

you might be able to get a used set of konis and some springs for $400. you can just get springs pretty cheap but you will ruin your factory shocks.

Yeah thanks, already did it.
Just a matter of finding the time.
Unfortunately, my baby has to take a back seat to yard work for the next few weekends.
After all the cold, snow, & rain, Spring is here with a vengeance.
