Was curious where the microphone is located for hands free models...

Reason I'm asking is I just bought a Bluetooth hands free attachment for my Grom Audio aux mod and it comes with a microphone, my plan was to run it in the same location as it comes from Mazda...

Is 47% engine load at idle (all accessories off) a problem?

I've check for vacuum leaks many times now and have found none.

Strange part is if I flash the ecu with my Cobb the number drops to 33% and as time goes by it climbs.

Ideas?

Alright guys, here's a dumb question. Is it possible (or wise) to do a compression on a short block? For example, a reman motor that was just delivered, or maybe an engine delivered from ebay? (Maybe a bad idea, but you get the point).

Far as I can think of, there's no physical difference between an installed engine and a short block. Does it matter if it's broken in also?

Well, if you get the engine firmly locked in place, mount the transmission to it, and the starter to the transmission, in theory you should just be able to apply 12v power to the starter to spin the engine for the pulse data.

An installed engine is easier of course, and you can usually drive it to a dealer with the compression tester. If you have a tester in hand, the above method should work. I don't know that a dealer would run the test if you just brought them the engine, transmission, and starter assembled together. Maybe in the bed of a truck and if you have a good reputation with them.

Why didn't you just text me? I have a reader, could have just told you my idle as a comparison. Oh well.

Well I know "something" is up with it. It use to be in the low 30's. I thought it was happening because my engine is dieing from low compression. But someone told that that's not it. The only other thing wrong with the car is the fuel pump is starting to die. The new pump is coming in today, but I doubt it will fix this issue.
If you want to give me a hand looking at it I wouldn't say no. I'm on vacation for the next 8 days, just say when.

No, you can't just throw a turbo on, no matter how small it is. Yes, you would need a tune and JUST AS MUCH work and supporting mods as a "normal" turbo. You would also not be doing the engine any favors by going small intentionally. In fact, a too small turbo is just as dangerous to the engine as a too big turbo.

If you want "just a bit more", you would still have to get a completely solid and proper turbo setup, just set the wastegate down to the pressure point you want.

I'm gonna be disconnecting the battery on my R3 this weekend to install oil temp gauges. Will I have to deal with the radio anti-theft code thing? If so is this procedure for the series 1 cars work on the series 2's?

How to thread:
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-int...t-code-237103/

I couldn't find anything about it in any of the documents I have for the car (bought it used).

Wobble, that isn't nearly enough information to work with. Try again?

These are the stock coils right? Worried about warrenty on my 07 and want to keep everything OEM. has 57xxxmiles on it. Second owner have no idea if they have been changed before.

Amazon.com: IC163 UF501 N3H118100B9U 04-11 MAZDA RX-8 4 Ignition Coil + 4 Spark Plug With NGK Wire 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11: Automotive Amazon.com: IC163 UF501 N3H118100B9U 04-11 MAZDA RX-8 4 Ignition Coil + 4 Spark Plug With NGK Wire 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11: Automotive

Experiencing loss of power and poor gas millage.

The engine also flooded about 6 months ago. It is a good idea to change everything right and not just the coils?

Yes, those are oem.
Driving around with a bad ignition can also lead to other issues. Check the following:
Cat converter (pull down and look inside with a flashlight)
Eccentric shaft position sensor (wipe with a clean rag, then do the 20 brake stomp NVRAM reset)
air filter element
MAF/IAT sensor

Could be other issues, but it's better to start somewhere instead of throwing money at random parts for no reason

Thanks

Send a PM to Zoom44. Yes, restrictions were put in place, but your id shouldn't have been affected. It's clearly in error and Zoom44 will have to correct it manually.
