Haven't seen it yet, but it does remind me of one of the things that I'm dissappointed with my 8 is that it came with Dunlops. I swore a while back that I'd never buy Dunlops again, but not much of a choise when thats what come with the car

Dumb question of the day: when did 8's come with Dunlops? The 05's? I thought Bridgestone Potenza's were standard.

"In the beginning" the 8's came with Bridgestone Potenza RE040's, then sometime 2004 there was a period where it could be either Dunlop 8090's or the Bridgestones. Currently I don't know what the deal is..

Mine came with the Dunlops in March of '04.

I was told, now this was the service dept. manager, and we know how smart they are, that the reason they started using the Dunlops, was because the supply of the Potenzas at the time was not able to keep up with the demand for them. I thought it sounded crazy, but those tires were not bad. I got 21k out of them.

nice commercial, yellow would have made it the absolute best ever, it might have even pulled an Oscar with yellow, (?) but I guess red will have to do :D

i have dunlops and I seem to be getting good milage out of them. I drive pretty hard and typically get about 7k miles on a set of "Z" rated tires. Im @ 7k now and have plenty of tread left. Plus, they don't handle bad at all - and I've had all kinds of tires mind you. Put it this way, I'd have to become a better driver to appreciate a better tire.

Hmm. In poking around my dealer, I noticed that lots of other cars wear the Potenzas, such as the 350Z, but they have a higher ratio (245/40) than ours. And my dad's new SC 430 had a similar Bridgestone/Dunlop swap.
