duralast gold battery

i tried searching but couldnt really find anything on this specific car battery, i cant afford to go with the optima right now so i was wondering if anyone else uses the gold-duralast battery.

if so, any problems with it? anything special you have to do to it like the optima when installing?

sorry for such a noob post lol

I've used duralasts in all my cars for as long as I can remember autozone being around...I usually buy the mid-range one. It's just as good as any other. I have one on my jeep right now I bought this summer. I'd save my money on an optima if I were you, but some people like the optima products!

Its fine, I think the mid range one is about 550 or 600 CCA. which should be fine for warmer climate.

but for cold climate, I think their best Gold one rated at 650 or something. its enough.

I like Optima, but some people said it cost twice or three times as much money its not worth it .... well its worth it if u have tons of stuff in ur car or you often forgot to turn ur lights off or if u're living in some extremely cold areas.

Its a hype if you dont need it.

but if u have **** loads of crap like u know a big *** sub and tons of lighting and other bunch of crap. then u'll need it.

Its heavy as hell tho. the battery itself.

Optima doesn't live up to the hype. Check other car forums. It's a 50/50 success ratio. Quality went downhill 4-5 years ago. Look at a true dry-cell like Exide Orbital.

When people expecting too much from a product, you will start hearing these "it sucks" "it doesnt live up to the hype" "its nothing but an overpriced garbage" etc.

The same thing is happening to our Rx-8 isnt it ?

I heard of Exide Orbital, but the thing is that ... is pretty hard to find the right size, at least in my area they just dont have it.

always get the highest CCA rated battery in a brand's lineup

they're only what, $20 more than the medium range battery? i think i'll pay that premium for better cold starting performance.
