Ease up on the nonsearchers

Some people on this site need to calm down when people ask a question that may or may not have been covered in another thread. If people didn't ask (seemingly) similar questions than this site would turn into a stale information kiosk.

I've been a member of the rx7club website for several years and I've never seen the extent of member bashing that goes on in the 8 forums. I don't even see this kind of behavior on the Nissan forums either. I'm kinda getting the impression that maybe the 8 is too affordable and some people who can't really afford this car are able to stetch their income and buy one. Then, they have an epiphany, realizing that owning a sports car doesn't make you any more of a man and that sports cars cost more than econo's to own they start getting bitter. That fits with certain members that bash younger owners who get their parents to buy them one. If I could afford it and had kids, hell, I'd buy them the best car I could. You're only a that young once then life catches up with you and suddenly you're driving a volvo.

I couldnt agree more. You would think that since we are all adults in here we could at least act like it and stop bashing each other. I mean come on, we are all here for the same reason, we have an undying love for a beautiful car thats like no other. So please, when someone asks a question, do the right thing and help them out by pointing them in the right direction instead of breaking down their ego!

For example not reading the sticky's. You didn't bother reading them before posting this in the RX8 discussion area did you? This thread should be in the Lounge or Suggestions section not the RX8 Discussion. https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...02&postcount=1

Your post is a good example of why you should post in the appropriate section and use the search function. Helps make things easier for everyone.

Problem is people don't bother to search for answers to their questions before posting their questions, most of which have already been addressed numerous times here. IMO that's just plain laziness.
Why should other members be responsible for directing you to the appropriate threads when that is what the search function is for. Your basically asking others to do all the work for you. It's no different than using Google or Yahoo or any other search engine online. If you have a question about something you don't run to that forum and sign-up and post a question, you search first. Am I wrong?

I think we all know the answer to that, don't we?
How much you want to bet he didn't bother to do a search?

This is nothing. I'm a member of a 4x4 forum (www.pirate4x4.com) and they rip people to shreds. You should be thankful that people are as easy on eachother as they are on here...

If people started searching, the site would actually be more useful. We would get past the basic discussions and perhaps start asking more advanced questions. This is how it is supposed to work. Searching is a basis function of reseaerch and learning. Not searching is just lazy.

Im sorry dude...maybe they are too harsh...but some things get redundant...im on a few forums.. (ls2 ls1 ls1tech and a bunch of mustang and BMW forums) and they all say the same thing....to search and stop postnig things that are either WTLW or have already been thouroughly(SP) covered cuz it pisses people off that there is a function added that people negate and waste peoples time on something they have already discussed

so telling them to search is no big deal...they should have known that...but flaming them...thats wrong and i dont agree to that...

but thats just my $0.02

I let people in real life know what jack-offs they are when they want me to hold their hand through the entire discovery process, so why should be any different online?

People who join forums and re-post immediately should be stomped. The archive is littered with the tattered remains of a thousand oil-consumption threads re-started by newbs.

F-em. If you don't respect me enough to search, I don't respect you enough to not slam your lazy ***.

Why do you people that think you are obligated to answer these newbie posts that are redundant.

Just Ignore them and go on. You don't have to answer every %$&*#@ post.

Do you read the forums or just look at the main page? They will hand you your ******* head on a platter over there for not searching and I can't blame them. I've only been there for about 4 months and the number of idiots who make their first or second post "is the FD reliable?, is the FD a good daily driver", does the FD go fast?, What should I look for when buying an FD?, what basic mods should I do? There are stupid questions like that posted everyday and just reading the stickies, not even searching, would answer them.

Obvious reposts clutter up the forums. If you do a search and can't find a good answer then go ahead and start new thread. How hard is that? Another thing, constant reposts and idiots will drive knowledgable people away from the forum because they grow tired of dealing with morons. Another good thing about searching is you learn to answer your own questions and gaining knowledge while you read trying to fix your problem.

I was never a newb. I always did my research first, then posted questions.
Furthermore, I only post a question after I post and answer. You can't take until you give.

I'm kinda tired of hearing the "noob" excuse. Most forum rules are the same. There are different forum sections for different topics, there is a search button for easy navigation throughout the forums, and there are topic stickies filled with frequently asked stuff and hot topics. It doesnt take a freakin' genius to figure it out.
