Yes they do. Did you read the whole thing? I doubt it since your answer came so quick.

Greatness is most often not associated with punctuality.

I invented the Heinie, BTW.

Did you find the thread about that elsewhere on the forum?
Did you read the FAQ about what does and does not count?
I did not mention the lounge as I am fully aware that it does not add to the total.

To echo what RSD said, it is absolutely pertinent because I was responding to someone's post about needing a certain post count to start a thread.

Thanks RSD!

OK, enough work. My suggestion.

Rather than post count (mine is low cause I lurked on the site for over a month prior to joining searching for answers) how about time based. Anyone who has been on the site less than 3 - 6 months, whatever, when they click on new thread, is prompted with a "Did you search for this topic first?" dummy box. If they click yes then open new thread. If they click no then redirect to search page. If they click yes and are lying, flame away.

Suggestion part 2 which is contrary to the last sentence above. If a repeat thread is opened have a mod close it immediately with an canned answer such as: "Existing topic, search". (Some of these mods can be brutal). That prevents pages and pages of flaming which again adds to the unnecessary posts. One of the biggest issues with searching is that you can get back 40+ results with multiple pages on each thread. After reading several of these that are mostly flames telling the person he is an idiot it makes the search frustrating. And I know that many here can search in detail but they have the advantage of having particpated in that thread so may have more key words to filter on or will be able to quickly sort through the multiple threads on the topic because they remember which it was in.

Somebody kick the soap box, I have more work to do before I can go home.

If someone starts a thred and it is a repeat. Don't respond and it will go away. Instead, on this site, you guys post and post and post correcting the guy and bashing him, and the thred stays around for ever.

I believe people should do a search first since posting new thread is a waste of bandwidth. Furthermore if people keep adding new threads of same or similar topic, someone that actually did a search is gonna have to read through all those similar threads that might or might not answer their questions, waste of time.

wow this thread still goin/??? lock it already, all we doin is goin back to the same over and over. yes search works, yes the answers you get might be too out dated, yes mazdamaniac is a dick, yes noobs are annoying sometimes, yes new threads can be a waste of banwidth only if you post pics and videos on it not other wise. but thats what makes us family. we all argue and disagree but in the end we all have one thing in common. and that one thing is what makes this forum. MAZDA RX8!!!

No it won't. When they don't get an immediate response, they start bumping the thread and complaining that no one is paying attention to their question.

How about we don't make this personal? I thought we are supposed to use PMs to tell people they are dicks, assclowns, ******** or asshats?

I vote for the noob forum and restricting all noobs to post there for their first three months on the forum.
