Why not look in the for sale section. You can get a used but quality exhaust from a reputable company for around the same price as the crappy ebay exhausts. Besides, most of those ebay exhausts are smaller piping than stock. DO NOT WANT.

I would just like to interject real quick and state that you do not have to pay 800 dollars for a new exhaust to get what you are looking for. No matter the exhaust on our car it is mostly for sound, some hp maybe but mostly sound.

That being said there have been plenty of forum members who have purchased the obx exhaust (ebay exhaust) and have posted vids/pics and were overall extremely pleased with what they have purchased in regards to sound/quality. I went turbo xs, 499 for both the catback and resonated midpipe, and the quality was just as good as previous magnaflow systems I ran on other cars.

So in summation, dont just knock something because its cheap when you dont know what the hell you are really talking about because you have no experience with it and really are just talking out of your ***.....nuff said

buying off ebay is gambling, that's all.
Some work, and some don't.
I don't know how much advice you'll get, as a lot of ppl here shy away from ebay purchases on stuff like this.
I did read another thread similar to this, but I don't think the question/ OP was ever resolved...

there are bad eggs out there and you do need to watch out for them. I am just suggesting you post up the specific link/brand that way we can give you better information, hopefully from those who actually know something other than those who just throw out there personal opinion with no significant foundation to support their opinions.

I wouldnt buy it...
I personally like brand names. I also went with the TurboXS system with free race pipe. I bought it used from a member here for $350 and I love it! I would suggest doing the same.

I'm not aware of any eBay exhausts which are smaller than stock. Stock catback is 2.25" ID. Check it, I have.

I actually just bought my 3rd OBX exhaust for my 3rd RX-8.

I've heard just about every exhaust out there for our cars and I just love the way this one sounds. Yea it's cheap but the build quality is good, sounds amazing(to me) and I enjoy how it looks. The fact it's a "cheap" eBay exhaust has nothing to do with it. I bought the first one to try it out but honestly I'd buy this exhaust again at twice the price if I had to for the sound of it. It's a knock off of some other exhaust, can't remember which, but it sounds a bit deeper than stock but opens up a bit when you get on it. 0 rasp, just a nice aggressive Hmmmmm to it.

the only true BAD thing i could imagine coming from a cheap exhaust is either

-rustin
-welds breaking
-not fitting correct
-and i would be worried that the packing might blow out faster than other more expesive exhaust.

but after reading your review supergoat im convinced it may just be one of those "two good to be true" moments.

Honestly, for the price I don't care about the welds or packing. I'd just buy another.

You could always buy a muffler and take it to a good exhaust shop that will make a system for you. I Did this on my classic Mustang about 4 times and it just sounded better and better and I spent maybe 900 over 4 years getting it just right. The Ebay exhaust could be great, I just wish that more people posted the after thoughts.

Yeah, I have installed most of the brand name exhausts ( Racing beat, HKS, Mazdaspeed, Turbo XS, Borla, Greddy, and Agency Power) and honestly the two I have had problems with regarding fitment were both brand name. Even my HKS had to be tweaked so that it did not hit the exhaust shroud.

It's your money but I would never pay over $500.00 for a catback system on the RX8. I just sold my HKS and I currently looking at the moment.

I agree with you here, this is the main reason I haven't purchased another cat back yet, I cannot see spending 500+ bucks on a rolled up/weld piece of thin metal with a pipe. I just can't justify that. I would like more sound from my car but, there are better things to spend money on.

This isn't an Ebay exhaust but I wish someone would make something similar to it

Odula Single side. After conversion it comes out to almost $2,000.00 It must be constructed of 100% Titanuim

FWIW, i paid $225 shipped for my HKS. Got it here from the for sale section. This is why i told him to check there first before rolling the dice with something from ebay.

I don't know why everyone gets so heated about it. I could give a **** less if he buys something from ebay or direct from japanparts. I just wanted to give him an idea of what to look out for.

Paying 1200 bucks for a catback is nuts. $500 isn't out of the question, as long as i know it will last. If the welds don't break, it fits right and the packing doesn't melt or burn out, more power to you.

Good luck OP. Let us know what you get and how it goes.
