beauty of an 8 and what sucks is you'll probably sell your 8 for how much its worth, stock, probably even less.

before economy, had job lined up for 12 dollars an hour, great! half of my check goes to my car, half goes for mods.

7 dollars an hour, like 95% of my check goes to my parents

this is how sad things are...i have to SAVE UP for an oil change, sigh

I kind of put off adding a leather interior and may end up doing the reupholstering myself to save money. But I never had great plans for the 8, it's just a nice sporty commuter car for me with a real rear seat since we have 2 kids now. Hope there will be a 16x RX-7 eventually as a 2-seater will be less of a compromise platform and it will seem more worthhile to spend performance upgrades on.

The only mods I'd been considering this year were a drop in air filter (K&N or Green) and an AccessPort. The AccessPort is on hold until later this year, since I am also saving up for some trips for my family. If I can't sock away the funds in spite of that, then I'll push back until next year.

I've just been transferred to a new department because of a loss of head count at my old group. Upside is that it will cost me slightly less in commuting and I won't be racking up 500 miles a week in commuting to and from work. Downside is that I won't have as much quality time with my RX-8.

Indirectly, the economy is impacting; but, ironically, it will probably make it easier since the economy triggered my transfer, and the transfer will cut my costs (in addition to the commuting cost reduction, I can go to oil changes ever 3 months instead of every 5-6 weeks). This savings should make it slightly easier for me to accomplish the mods I have planned.

Weird, yes?
