First picture is our well=known RX-8. Tried to get a front shot in black but i'm away from my vehicle and couldn't find one in short time on the web.

This next pic is of the Maybach Exelero...also known as the batmobile. The lines on these 2 cars are almost identical. The only difference being the Exelero has a thinner sweep down through the middle. Notice....

Again i'm talking about the basic styling lines of the vehicles...not getting too specific. So what i wanna know is....who made who? Which vehicle came out first?

Are there any other vehicles out there with a similar front end?

Lol, someone brought this up awhile back, but this is the first time I've actually seen decent pics to compare. I think a Mazdaspeed kit, maybe with a silver grille, would make them even more similar.

I did a search on Maybach in the forums. Got a bunch of jazz and waded through a bit a of it. One post sort of alluded to similarities between the 2 vehicles. i couldn't find any good pictures though.

I've seen that Ford concept car "Iosis" (sp?). And yea that thing's wheel wells are a direct rip from the RX-8 in my opinion.

It makes me feel good to know i bought a 30k+ car with basically the same front end styling as a million dollar(?) Mercedes concept vehicle.

I think a well kept, not totally tricked out RX-8 will hold its' styling for many years to come. That's IF we don't get a derth of copy-cats.

Good work, bir.

1st time I've seen a claimed comparo that actually pans out.

The lines are, in fact, strikingly similar. The Maybach grille and distended front air dam make the RX-8 beautiful by comparison, however.

Yeah, the Maybach has a Wankel engine too with suicide doors.

It's really just the headlights that do it.

But the S2K has similar headlights and I can hardly think you can say the S2K copied the RX-8.
