elbow keep pushing Bin Cover in, is this a common problem??

Im not sure if you guys also experience this "problem".. but every now and then I seem to put too much pressure on the front Bin cover ( arm rest?) so that it is slightly off the sliding track and I have to use a little force to push it back up when I realize that it isstuck.

Not only is this annoying but in the long term the sliding mechanism will probably break.

do you guys also experience this? or is my arm just too heavy?

Hmm wow thats a new one, course I'm only around 150 soaking wet so probably don't even come close to puttting a lot of pressure on it.

Would try to avoid it though, maybe take the loving to the rear of the car...less strain on the center console back there

Happens to me all the time....
It appears that the sliding tracks are a bit weak and shallow. Thus the rails come off-track.....and you need to push them in.....don't think it's serious....

Design problem.... there's a little piece of plastic clip that'll break after this happens a few times...then it won't close right anymore. Replaced x2 under warranty already.

happened x2 for me no matter how easy you lean on it .after a while the little plastic breaks lose and it's sliding back and forth(160LBS SOAKED) i do not lean on it hard at all i think it's one of those weak points that was not looked at by design.wro, wro, wro,!!

I have a habit of putting my wieght on it (190lbs) getting in and out of the car. After a couple weeks of this, a little plastic clip broke from the underneath the lid. I don't think the clip broke, i think it was the plastic that the clip clips into.

Anyways, it still closes just fine, and now that it's broken I don't have any problems with it at all. And I've had the car since August (clip broke a couple weeks after I bought it, never bothered with getting it repaired).

Happens to me too. My only other complaint is the tailight internal condensation. Both warranty items. Even with the clip broken the sliding/latching function is fine, but you do get the weight on elbow induced movement.

The on/off function of the oil gauge, vs. a true pressure readout, is a minor item as well.

Not a problem. Left hand on stering wheel, Right hand on stick not a problem so far. If you lean back a little it might help.

All the time. I generally check it before opening to make sure it is properly aligned. I'm sure it will break eventually.

i lean on mine all the time, don't haven't this problem since the first week i had the car. basically its not the amount of force that's being put on it, its the direction of the force that's causing the problem. leaning straight down on it, there is no problem, but if you put any sort of sideways pressure on it, it can come off the track. basically, the times this happens is getting in and out of the car, like asmoran said he does. just try to pay attention at those times, and it will eventually become a learned behavior, and you won't have to think about it anymore. and the problem will stop too.

Its good to know Im not the only one, looks like I should try to break it and get it replaced before the warranty expires

I find it very uncomfortable to drive with the Bin Open or with any sort of beverages in the cup holder
