Elbow Rest

Elbow Rest
It's been two wonderful weeks, and I've been enjoying my 8 with every mile.
One thing though. No no, its not gas mileage (I get 16-19 city/hwy), not CEL, no flood, no slipping/sliding in the snow. Its; where do you rest your right elbow/arm when driving? On the sill, on the arm rest, on your knee? My commute takes 1 hour each way on single lane roads, and its usually behind someone doing the speed limit (or less). For those long streaches, I like to rest my elbow someplace, be where?
Don't mean to whine, just curious if someone else noticed?

If I'm leisurely, I rest it on the low arm rest at the storage pocket. Since I'm 5'8" i can get away with it. It's a tad low but not bad. If I'm revvin', I'll put it up on the sill which helps wedge me into my seat for those tight turns. It's a tad high but not bad.

On the armrest here when I'm resting, but I tend to drive left-handed with my hand at about 10:00 (give or take). This extends my arm and avoids the need to find a place to rest my elbow. Since you mentioned the right arm, might as well throw that one in too. When I'm in heavy-shifting territory, I tend to keep my right hand on the stick with my elbow on the console. If I have a coffee or a soda in the cosole, I don't really enjoy having my arm float above the beverage so I pull the console half-forward and rest my elbow on the front edge of the console.

I use a red brick & black duct tape on that low armrest. It pretty well matches my interior.
Not! :D
The best thing is to grip the wheel at 3 & 9 o'clock & relax your arms, so they just drape. If you drift a tad, re-adjust where, or the way you're gripping the wheel just a wee bit to correct. Changing lanes then takes no more than a slight flex of a wrist. Once you get this technique down, you won't need to put your arm down, cuz it won't get tired.
When I do though, I think I lay it across my lap and usually then, I grab the bottom of the wheel.
