the end of the road...

Take the money... the car will never be the same again if you fix it. I know it's the car you GREW UP with and know too much about the one you currently had. But seriously, take that good check for 12.5k and go and get another car.

I'd just take the 12.5k over the 9k regardless. Unless you think you can make more then that difference thru parting it out.. It wouldn't be worth fixing it with that much suspension damage.

i have a good amount of money saved up in the bank right now and with the check that the insurance company, i'll be able to start over again. Im aiming towards another red rx8 which is seeming more and more possible now that i think about it. That or i could ride in a toyota camry

OH...hell yeah, 12.5 could get you a nice 04 or 05, no prob!!! Matter of fact, check your regional RX-8 forum for the shops the folks in Houston go to(NOT THE DEALER, BUT THE TUNER SHOPS) and see if they know of any in good shape 9 times out of 10 they worked on the car and can recommend a used one in good shape. And you're in a great spot since the car is paid off, you might find one that's got some goodies on it too!!!

sorry to hear about your lose, i know i would be moping around for days if that ever happened to me. I would take the money and buy another 8. I bought mine for 9k and i ended up getting a new engine for free because the dealer found low compression in it. So good look on the search.

did you buy yours from a dealer or private seller? I'm thinking of negociating an 04with no accidents vr with 53k miles. If i were to purchase the car from the private seller since he is the original owner, would the powertrain warranty transfer to me since the car has not yet hit 100k miles?
