Engine Light????

Engine Light????
I just finished installing my new alpine 12'' type r, in the custom fiberglass box, with an alpine amp. I did installation myself, and everything seemed to turn out great. Only until I start the car start backing it up, and as soon as I pull off I realize it won't go past 3k rmp, and yellow engine light is on. There always seems to be a problem with something , and I dont know whether I caused the issue, or just a coicindence . Anyway, I am going to get it over to the dealer tomorow, but I was just wondering whether anyone has experienced a similar issue after installing a sub/amp, or if anyone has any idea what the problem is/how to fix it? The manual says light comes on for a couple reasons, some may include electrical problems, which I hope is not the issue. I'm just worried the dealer will blame me for the problem, and therefore charge me some insane price to fix whatever's wrong. BTW I haven't had a service yet since I purchased the 05' new last july. Been keeping the oil at the right levels, and checking wheels, etc. It needs a service either way at 7k miles, but this engine light is pretty worrying. Comments suggestions??? Thanks

yea I'm definately thinking electrical, not the oil, I topped up like 3 days ago. This sux, I can only take it in on monday. I spoke to the dealer, and i guess its not in THAT bad of shape, the engine light isn't flashing but rather just staying lit. I guess I can't do much but just take it to them. By installing the amp/sub, could this void my warranty at all?

They will blame ANYTHING you did, you know that.
You probably blew a fuse, there are two for the computer at the top of the fusebox, and one at the bottom of the footwell fusebox - check them all with a tester, you don't need to pull 'em, just poke both sides till you find the blown one. (...if you just put in your system, you prolly know how to check a fuse...DOH!)

well looks like the 8 will be off to the dealer on monday. Needs a service anywayz, but it is rather iritating. I just hope nothing major is wrong with it. I need to get it towed to nearest dealer, is Mazda roadside covered under warranty?? If not I will just go with AAA. Thnx
