Engine recall

I was wondering if anyone might know the answer to this but I own a 2004 RX8 and in 2009 I took it to the dealership for a recall on the motor do to them failing and the replaced it for free . They said it was because of the original motor not getting enough oil to the planetary gear . My question is? Does anybody know what motors they put in the cars to replace the originals ? Like are they the second gen ? Or is it just the same motor that was refurbished to get the right amount of oil ? My dealership in Las Vegas sucks and don’t know what they are even doing when it comes to the RX8 . I hope there is some one out there that can help .
