Engine will not start

I have an 04 RX8, I started it up and started backing out of my garage. I got about half way out of my garage and it just died. I have tried to start it more than once since then, and all it does is crank but will not start. I have already tried depressing the pedal as the book says and that doesn't work. It has a 2 month old new battery in it and has plenty of power to crank it over. It sounds like it wants to start but it won't. It does have gas in it also. Anybody have any suggestions. Warranty ran out 850 miles ago.

check with the dealer to be sure it had all the tsb's done most dealers are not to bad with wro problems and will do the work to make sure you use them in the future for oil changes and service.just a note when flooded and the battery is really strong you can floor it and crank in 15 seconds intervals and if it is not too bad it will crank up and blow out some smoke for a few minuntes.then just drive it for a half of an hour or so at 3,000 to 4500(2nd gear) rpms and be sure it is warm before you take off. hope it helps.if not jack it up support the car..pull two plugs out then the other two(don't forget to not mix up the front plugs from the rear)once you pulled the plugs out crank the engine over about 20 times(clears out the extra gas) and clean then reinstall your plugs or replace them with new ones and don't drive the car without warming her up again.good luck it worked for me and i hope it works for you! **note:if you know how to pull the fuse for the coils do so or cover the wire ends with a non flamable cover so the sparks won't catch anything on fire like the gas spitting out**

I suspect that that explanation should be a sticky. I've read many reports of flooding, but this is the first fix I've seen.

If my father floods his again (has once in two years), I'll pass this info along. Thanks.
