EPA Mileage estimation- US only???
Hey all,
Was reading yet another thread regarding oil weight (synth vs. Dino, etc...) and one of the same comment that is always made...
"MadzaNA switched the oil weight from 5w30 to 5w20 to improve fuel economy... blah blah blah..."
So my question is... Is the EPA's estimated fuel economy only valid in the USA? What I mean is... I'm fairly sure that the EPA is a US government agency, and they "estimate" what the car's avg. MPG is. Does the rest of the world use these same numbers? (well since most everyone else is using the metric system... it'd be KPL - Kilometers Per Litre)
If the answer is yes, then why wouldn't they use the same oil weight?
