Eveyone loves this car...
My girl and I cruising down the interstate this weekend on our way out of town. Not much traffic around since it was midafternoon. I look in my rearview and see a car closing on me. He changes lanes to pass me and I notice its a new Porsche 911 Turbo. The guy pulls up beside me and gives me a thumbs up and then eases on by. I had the biggest smile on my face.....Very nice to get acknowledgement from a Porsche owner. Guy was an older guy, probably late 40's early 50's.
Did I mention I love this car! :D

It's amazing. I can't count the number of times that someone has had to speed up or intentionally slowed down to take a closer look at the car. It's a hoot! Old and young alike. What really amazes me is that you go out and find someone looking at the car, and despite the fact they have had their nose to the glass a dozen times, they ask "what is it???" Jaws have dropped when I state, "it's a Mazda"......"No way!" they retort back......it's cool......I've had bimmer's, porsche's, MB's, and even folks in big 'ole Lincolns give thumbs up.....

same thing happened to me last time takin the car for service, a ferrari 355 spyder with top down hauled *** to catch up to me, he only got to see my rear as we approached traffic... but followed my lead in weaving thru traffic until it was his exit....

It is a really fun aspect of this car. The postman delivering the mail to my office when I pulled in this morning was the latest to flip over my Winning Blue 8.
Thinking back on it, the 8 has gotten more comments per mile, and REALLY enthusiastic comments at that, than either my 2gen RX7, which was a first-year-of-production car, or my 3gen, which was a second year model.
It's not like the 8 has its particular niche all to itself these days, so the only conclusion that makes sense is that the design team in Irvine did an excellent job of coming up with a shape and package that really appeals to a broad spectrum of people.

Hey it's all good.
I still get the head turns everytime I get in the car. My favorite is when you see the girl with a guy checkin' me and the car out while the guy is just tryin' hard to look cool in is Civic with the Commando Wing bolted crooked on back.
