experts opinions wanted

I need some opinions from actual rx8 owners. I will be in need of a new car next year around may07. I seen many sporty cars but the rx8 was the one that got stuck to me. I have been eyeing this sports car for the last 2 months or so. but all looks. recently I have learned about recalls that only feel like getting it will just be headaches. being that this post is intended for owners I will like to know how you guys feel about your rx8 and should I go for it when I decide to get it next year. taking care of a car is no problem with me. as I am very much into cars. please post your opinions on these recalls and your experiences. than you.

Go for it. There's literally nothing else quite like it in the world, right now. Drive it around, and see if it fits you - if it's ground-pounding torque that you want, be warned - and look elsewhere. If you want to leave it in gear and let the engine soar through the revs as you weave through the twisty bits, you're not likely going to find something better than this for your money.

Recalls don't signal new problems - they are attempts to fix problems that have been discovered. Since a car is a collection of engineering compromises, having a few bugs to work out is not unusual. Personally, I would be more likely to buy a vehicle that has had recall work done because it means they've found some of the bugs already and worked them out. This car is very fun to drive, and having driven it for close to 2 years, and survived 1 accident, I'd have to say that I can't think of a car for the price I'd rather have.

My car fell in the time frame for every recall we have had, and I have never needed anything special replaced. Like I said earlier, over 40k miles, no issues.

The 04 and some 05 had teething problems that have pretty much been worked out by now. I have a late model 05 and it is pretty solid. The only problem that I have is the 11 to 12 mpg city which Mazda is still ducking me on.

My car was built late enough that not recalls applied to it, except the engine recall issue that is coming. I understand that Mazda is not expecting to replace a lot of engines and will be increasing the warranty by an additional year.

well, if you buy a new car in may, 07, the recalls won't even affect you

that being said, people on the internet are particularly vocal about any problems they have, while the vast majority of owners have none whatsoever. You won't see a new thread every day saying, "Still no problems"

I have had mine almost 3 years...nothing real major...a few engine quirks...it seems to like 70-75 degree temps best. All that said.....I love this car anyway...nothing like it and Mazda has always comr through to fix any issue!!
