i used to get those all the time in the mail when i just bought my rx8. when i called them they asked the mileage and i said, "20,000." the lady was very rude, she very quickly said, "we have no warranty for you." and hung up.
no more mail. what a beotch though.

Put $3,000 in the bank, if something breaks pay for it from there. if not you will have some money left over. I have been without an warranty for the last 50,000 miles with no major issues so you also might be ok.

my only advice...if it's not directly from Mazda, don't waste your money. You'll pay out the nose for the extended warranty, but anything else isn't even worth the money. Third-party warranties have so many "fine-print" points that you'll find it more annoying then useful.
Not to mention that just last month I had a good friend tell me how his $1200 warranty that he bought a new Envoy is no longer good because the company went BANKRUPT.
Heed the warning...If Mazda is able to weasel out of covering it's warranties, just wait until someone who's even LESS apt to cover won't.

$1600 good for extened warranty from Mazda
Today I am finally buying a loaded 2004 MT w/38,500 miles (factory warranty just expired last month) from a Mazda dealership - my price is $16,300 on the car - what a great deal!!
Anyway, their bottom price on the Mazda Total care extended warranty is $1600 w/$100 deductable for 3 more years, or a total of 85,000 miles on the odometer.
I am seriously considering this option (although the car is in great shape, and has a perfect CarFax report).
Please let me know your opinions.
Thank you.

The 04's should be covered up to 50,000 miles.. after that warranty is up.. I got a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty from the dealership I got my car from.. which was added to the price of the car when I bought it.. I had 30k miles on it at purchase.. so I'm covered until 2011.. that warranty will kick in when the mazda one runs out.. they won't touch the car while its still under mazda warranty..

The 04's are covered for 50,000 miles, or 48 months, whichever comes first. My car went into service on 7/23/03 - which means the manufacture's warranty expired on 7/23/07.
From Mazda's websight -
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 2003 to 2006 models is 48-months/50,000-miles, whichever comes first, from the original in-service date. It covers defects in material or workmanship.
