Which Exterior Color?
#26
Black looks decent but it hides the car's sexy lines. White also looks good but I hate white cars so I pretend to dislike it. Red is hideous on everything. Silver looks good but it's boring. Nordic Green looks surprisingly good on the 8 that parks next to me every morning but I've never seen it in direct sunlight. Gray is the obvious answer. It looks the best by a large margin. I still wish I got gray instead of black.

Ike, Stormy Blue is NOT teal! It is too dark. I think you are referring to Phantom Blue, which I was going to get until I saw one at the lot. That color really was teal. Got the stormy blue and I'm glad that I did. Mazda doesn't offer the Phantom Blue any longer.

I don't own an RX-8, but for me the best looking color is white. The RX-8 is a little busy to begin with so I think the whire compliments it very well by toning it down a touch. Also, having owned a white car it doesn't show dirt nearly as much as you'd think.
Black is a PITA and though it looks great when clean I will probably never own another black car since it only stays clean for a day after you wash it.
Red just doesn't do much for me unless we're talking somethign exotic like a Ferrari.
Silver, it seems like half the cars on the road now are silver.
Lastly, Copper Red is a decent color, but it just doesn't fit a sportscar IMO and looks more at home on a sedan or SUV.

No idea if the red leather is disco or not, but I'll second the "Ugh!" put forth by mazurfer. All 3 blues are very nice, but nothing gleams like a clean BB!

I have black--what a b*tch to keep clean--but worse are the scratches that show up like gashes.
I like stormy blue, but it'd be hard to keep clean too. I'd choose one of the silvers or white.

I've always wanted a black car until I got a black car. It's like never getting invited to a the cool kids party in high school, then the 1 night you're invited all you want to do is get out!
If I could chose again, I'd probably go with Red (If "cop magnet" is the only downside people can come up with, then that's the best color.), or maye Winning Blue just because the more I see of it the more I like it.

I'm suprised no one busted out the myth that the color of the car has an effect on how high your insurance premiums are with all this "red is a cop megnet" stuff.

Go with the color you like and deal with the dirt, the "common" factor and so on. Otherwise, you'll kick yourself for getting your second choice.
Gray is by far the most common with silver, red and black pretty common, too. White seems to be the new "in" color for the 8 enthusiast crowd. Since you're asking for biases, mine are: gray is for sedans, not sports cars. Black shows every scratch. White looks great w/ tint & body kits , but pretty dull by itself. Red is not the bright red you're used to with sports cars and Copper Red isn't quite the metallic orange that other cars have. Silver photographs beautifully, looks good, but gets lost in the crowd. Nordic Green looks black unless it's in direct sun. Black Cherry is almost the same story. I love my Yellow, it's a fantastic color for the car, but not for everyone. Winning Blue is gorgeous and hard to go wrong with, Stormy Blue is more subdued and Phantom Blue is another "not for everybody" color. Oh, and they still make the red/black leather for 2008. Chaparral is gone. This year's colors are Red, Silver, Black, Stormy Blue, Crystal White, Galaxy Gray.

First off, I'm having a very hard time deciding on which color, if given the choice, I would like. Below were the main ones I'm looking and their pros and cons.
White- Pros: Love the look. Original. Cons: Shows Dirt. Impossible to match the Whitewater Pearl if its scratched.
Black- Pros: Also looks amazing. Cons: Shows Dirt. Scratches Easily.
Red- Pros: Classic great color. Cons: Cop Magnet. Everyone has Red.
Silver- Pros: Resists Dirt and Scratches the best. Cons: Doesn't catch my eye as much as the others.
Please give me your opinion I am at a complete loss.

BLACK = PROS - When clean - one of the best...very slick. CONS - Black on a hot day means a burnt ***. Black is also every hard to maintain. When it rains, water marks can be seen easily.
SUMMARY = white cars and black cars...people normally charge more you get a polish and clean. Black coloured cars tend to have also have swirls on the paint work after some time and scratches stand out more.
Red- Pros: Classic great color. Cons: Cop Magnet (Youre kidding?). Everyone has Red (Sure they do...not)
Silver- Pros: Resists Dirt and Scratches the best. (True) Cons: Doesn't catch my eye as much as the others. (Also true)

Nordic Green. That's what color mine is, and damn... it's a beautiful color. Doesn't do much for the car at night, but during the day in the slightest bit of direct sunlight the car has almost an aura about it... the high amounts of metal fleck in the Nordic Green paint reflect the curves to no end, and bring out the best of the exterior.
