There are a lot of parts that are needlessly chromed or CF....I read the wrapped in CF thing in another thread. You're right about our drive shafts being CF, I checked the pricing on replacement and the drive shaft for the M/T is $1,207 where the drive shaft for the A/T is $385.

Ima keel my dealership.. I asked about this twice on two seperate occasions and he said "oh yes all Rx-8's have the carbon drive shaft".. friggin moron.. 'eh oh well I just wont tell my friends haha...
Great Website find though.
Yea, well the sales guy at my dealership told me that the RX-8's had 3 rotors because people in the mountains had trouble with the old 2 rotor ones due to the higher altitudes. I think he was getting it confused with the number of ports or something.

heated mirrors is grand touring. touring does not have them. i have a post somewhere from 2003 where i posted the spec list which initially said heated in touring. then a month later the official list came out for the pre order and they were gone from touring

The HID headlight level sensor is not on the sway bar; it's on the lower lateral link. You can pull the rear sway bar without touching the sensor.

DaveT posted this a long time ago for clutch height adjustment. apparently not many have done it. i haven't attempted it. someone wanna do it and give feedback?

I did it today, documented my effort with photos. This worked really well for me. Within 2 days of owning the car, I knew I needed to move the clutch pedal closer.

See my DIY here:

I rest my case! While this is a wonderful mod to the car (good job on the DIY post RX8Maine), it is definitely not a "little known RX-8 feature".

I encountered a newbie sales guy at a dealership who insisted that the RX-8 was front-wheel drive. I corrected him, but he didn't fully believe it until he saw the fine print on the window sticker.
