I once hit 88 MPH in my DeLorean and went back in time to 1955 and saw my mom and she was hot. The end.

Read your own post lady, you should likely be reported, if not worse for possibly inciting illegal behavior.

"I can protect identities" What a tool - do you have kids yourself? or just get your kicks videotaping kids trying doing illegal things /getting arrested or worse?

I doubt you meant anything more innocent or you could have just said so.

We have good reason to be - see the above link to the youtube video. By the way, my above post was in no way targeted at you, but at the youtube video of coverage by another journalist.

If on the other hand you are interested in filming people racing in a safe and legal way (on the track, HPDE, autocross, etc), you will find many more courteous responses and lots of people willing to help or answer questions. I for one intend to participate in ice racing events this season (held in the Adirondacs). Tracking is fun and a great way to get the "need for speed" out of younger drivers in a safe environment so they don't feel the urge to race on the street. We need more coverage along those lines. If this is what you are looking to do, you have my thanks, and I will be glad to help any way I can

Thanks,
-Dmitri

I whatever-the-word-is-for-not-seconding-the-motion that motion... She posted a second time so there's a chance we might have an intelligent discussion. If we get the word out about legal racing into the mainstream media I think that's a Very Good Thing.

Fine. I'm an optimist. Sue me.

Nah. Just have a strong ethic against street racing. "Kill" threads are even against the rules here. Much of what you perceive as rudeness is just some of the gang running off on a gag tangent. Never take that kind of thing personally.

You need to think about what you're up to with this story idea, and whether you might be provoking illegal actions if you do get some takers. Take that part personally.

"paranoid"?? No, we are just a bunch of people who are beyond the age range you are obviously targeting. We do not get our kicks living our lives a 1/4 at a time, or endangering the public on the streets. I am sure you will post some great show someday and we will all see the type of individuals you are looking for and I am sure that we will all be very impressed w/ the smart, intelligent way you show responsible racing....on the track. Looking forward to the show. Please come back and let us know when this fine episode will air.

Probably because we are a mature, worldly group that know how the media twists the facts for their own sensational purposes.

October 5th, 2006 — Lisa

My name is Karen Welles and I am a reporter at WPXI TV in Pittsburgh, PA. I am working on a special report on teacher sexual misconduct and am looking to interview victims in the Pittsburgh area (including parts of West Virginia and Ohio). We would certainly protect anyone’s identity—no faces nor names. Can you help me to find victims who are willing to tell their stories?

Thank you for any help you can give,
Karen Welles

Rude and Paranoid? You jumped in to a tight community of good people and asked for street racers.
Did you ever consider that the rude responses might be because you offend us by asking us to flaunt the law?

I get annoyed at very little.
YOU **** me off.

This site is all about enjoyment of a car. And it is a very fun place to hang out because 99% of us are clear thinking adults. We DESTROY idiots who street race here.

So you want to jump in our house, and then call us paranoid and rude because we don't accept street racing?

Karen, with all due respect did you really expect any less of a response?

99% of people on this forum are law abiding decent citizens and some us of work in a variety of occupations, including law enforcement.

Even though I'm several thousand miles away, I am concerned you may be trying to set up a dedicated group of car enthusiasts. I'm not sure of your motive here...recognition / promotion / award?

Even if you had good intentions of putting together a good human interest story, I can guarantee your editor won't.

If you really want a good car story why don't you ask your boss to go over to the 2007 40th Tokyo Motor Show commencing on the 26th of this month.

I hear theres a revamped RX8 on its way and its generating world wide interest...

If you're ever in Australia, I'll introduce you to our police media unit who would be more than happy to give you their 2c worth as well...

this thread amuses me.

for real racing, the mazda sports club of washington is having an autocross event in the next week, maybe you can contact the head honcho. you might be allowed to come.

maybe. but you are really arrogant to come on to our forums and call us rude. you never considered the possibility of even posting what you did, would be rude to us.

Well not to push things, but couldn't hurt to call her station and the local radio stations, schools, and do research on families who have lost members getting ran over by street racers and let them know about this person.
