45 on a full circle uphill entry ramp to a highway, made a mistake halfway through the circle and understeered. My driver side mirror was about half a foot away from the concrete wall, scared the heck out of me..

...80-90 on a regular basis, a bit more depending on the turn radius ... only lost it once and did a 180 on Turn 1 @Watkins Glen.... but that was just a bit too thrilling .

Suggested limit 55, I have peaked 111 through the middle sweeper.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...9&ie=UTF8&z=17
Suggested limit 35, I have peaked 104 on the entry and I can hold a consistent 72 through the long curve at the end.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...9&ie=UTF8&z=17
Suggested 45, I get tire squeal at 106.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.026178&z=16
Suggested 25, I can hold 58 through the first left curve (several sudden bumps/elevation changes, higher and I lose the rear hitting them), and the sharp right after the 2nd split get tire squeal at 39

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...9&ie=UTF8&z=17
I rarely get a chance to go all out on this one, but suggested 20, tire squeal at 63, and I am generally 90+ on corner exit before hitting I-95. The exit of the left downhill into the right is uphill, and it is slightly banked. Hella fun to hit at speed.

Just some examples

Turn 1 at the Glenn does look easier than is really is, good thing there is plenty of room to do a 180. But when you get turn 1 right, turns 2,3,4 ( the esses ) are so much fun in an RX-8 Turn 1 shows up at 2:51 in this video I took, Right Click / Save as.

Over 100. Way too easy in this car (but shouldn't be repeated anywhere but the track).

Took an overpass at 100mph and got DSC to slightly kick on. BTW recommended speed here is 45mph. LOL.

Also, the off ramp near my house has a recommended speed of 35mph, which is pretty fast for this exit since it is like a downhill ring. Anyways, I took it at 54mph one night and got tires to squeal. I think I may be able to take it even faster since my tire pressure was a little low.

on a 90 degree turn you should easily be able to exit at 45mph. turn in at about 35

on a 90 degree intersection turn

58mph

on a 45mph offramp

93mph

on a normal onramp

120mph

on a 25 mph offramp

52mph

on a 15 mph offramp

39mph

Pretty much, I look at the "suggested speed" and multiply it by 2 and figure thats the "RX8 suggested speed".

Hopefully I dont get banned now.

Did 68 a couple days ago on a round-about getting on the interstate..30 suggested speed. The back end of the car thought it was faster than the front so i called it quits.

On track, the question isn't how fast YOU have been thru a turn, but how fast can the turn be taken.
Then try to get there.

for the 90 degree turn at 58 mph, my friend has made it at 60, not saying he's better, but i believe it, and wow i'm too scared for my 8 to do that on public streets. spirited driving is spirited driving, but i think i have curbphobia.

The real test would be how many horizontal G's you can obtain. I have an accelerometer in my 8 and you would be really surprised at the down force you can create at high speeds. Luckily it keeps track of your high score so I don't have to watch it all the time. My highest so far is 1.1 before it started to slide. Had a brand new set of rubbers on her and have absolutely no idea how fast I was going, but I can say with a fair amount of certainty that it was a little above the posted limit.
For reference, 1g is equal to the force of gravity, meaning I could have been driving on a completely vertical wall without sliding off. I haven't had the sac to repeat it since.

Theres a long sweeping 2 lane wide right hander that leads from I-85 to I-485 here, that I take twice a week. Enter at 65 in the right lane and shoot out at 90-95 in the left lane. Granted not the most fun turn I've taken in the 8, but very much the fastest.

Turn 2 at Pacific Raceway 125mph. Whatever you do don't get off the gas.

My favorite turns are the ones taken in 3rd gear somewhere between 60-80 mph on Kristopher_d's monthly drives.
