Fiance' Drove the 8 today
She drove the 8 today learing to drive a stick must say she did great . Warmed it up good just incase of a stall , did not want to flood her. The 8 seems pretty 1st timer friendly as far as a 6 speed goes .
I also got out of the car for a bit considering I was making her more nervous because she knew she was driving my baby, I have to say OUR 8's our really one sexy car!!just the whole motion of the car ,the wheels and of course the sound.
Could really careless that it is not the fastest car out there, because even at 30 in a parking lot it looks like it is going 100.....

only stalled 3 times...she did great no dumping the clutch or high revs and then "jack rabbit" Just want to make sure she has the concept in case of an emergency and thats the only car she can drive it, she knows the deflooding program and lots of tech stuff she reads on here as well.
AS far as the 'Learning' thing If I wouldve thought that the clutch or gears were in danger with her I would not let her drive it..she did great

Kudos to you for having the bravery for letting her do that. I'm not sure if I would've had the stones for it. (indeed, I might well have tried to rent something stick for her)
Even bigger kudos to HER, for stepping up to the plate and learning stick. A wonderful quality in a woman!

After one year of ownership...I still stare at my 8 as I walk away. Also, I just love the 8's butt! In my garage when you are walking up to the house and the garage door is open...I just walk up staring at the lights, bumber....butt.....wow...just such a sexy car.

That was Us LOL and no ROTTEN42 you do not have to shake your head, it was just so she could learn in case of an emergency. Also her being a RN she has like 4 days off a week so If I need the 8 to goto the dealer she can take it instead of me missing some time from work ..actually it is there today geting looked over, checking the Flashes and Recall work since I bought it used from my aNIssan Dealer, I want a Mazda Tech to go over the car, the Dealers are owned by the same company so everyone was cool...Props to Ferman Mazda on N. Florida .. I am zipping around in a 06 Acura TL..good power but not my 8

Ive always thought the 8 was not learner friendly since the engagement is pretty quick compared to say a Honda accord or civic. You are braver man than I. Only 3 people have driven my 8 besides me and they are well seasoned stick drivers and good friends. What type of bike do you ride? I am guessing RC51 from your avatar quote?

Yeah I have an 2003 RC 51 with some fun bits..Marvic Wheels, Yoshimura Race exhaust , Power Commander with Custom Map, all the RC mods and a few HRC parts..
I also have an 05 Vstar 1100 with some custom work done as well, when we do not feel like flying on the RC we just cruise the Vstar.
What do you ride?
and I see in your Avatar is that you on a track day?
Also a huge MotoGP Fan....Rossi is the man!!! Even though Hayden will be coming up soon.

Yep. Thats me on my SV (which I recently sold) at JenningsGP in Florida. She had full M1 exhaust and jet kit (dynotuned), custom suspension from AfterShocks (Cali. based), full race plastics, race rubber, and a few other things. I miss her dearly, but I travel so much for my job, I just dont have time to ride her on the track and I dont have a safe place to store her in Atlanta while I am out of town. I'll ride again. I dont know how much longer I can go w/o a tack day fix. Thank god for my 8 to keep me occupied. I love the MotoGP as well. Sick of Rossi even though he is the best. I am pulling for Nicky and Edwards.

I think I saw you are Jennings, we have a race team, I say we because I sponsor them a bit it is Kinetic Motorsports here in Port Richey. We Used to race RC's now we are down to 1 GSXR100 rider is Dave Mcheanry an done SV 650, We won the Super Twins 2 years ago. My bike was all done by Chad Wolfe
I love Rossi, he will be moving onto F1 here soon anyway....but Nicky and Colin yuppers those are my up and comers until " the Doctor" is done.
