in 2 days the gas around my house at all the stations jumped 13 cents to 3.25 and the last tank cost me $48. sucks but what can you do besides just drive less...I went from filling up twice a week to filling up once a week, thanks to me still having my jetta 1.8t, lol. Still cant resist driving the 8 every where though.

God bless Texas, $2.86 a gallon today for 93. Still over a dollar a gallon higher then when he was first elected.

I'd rather pay a dollar more in gas than live in Texas

Haha, I second that!

Filled up 2 hrs. ago, 3.049/gallon for 93, 14.3 gal = total $43.60

20 mpg. avg. btw...not too shabby I don't think...not the 25 mpg. avg. my Boxster got, but not making a few hundred dollar a month payment more than makes up for 5 mpg. ay?

I just filled up tonight with Shell 91 octane. 3.539 a gallon, 13.56 gallons = $47.99

I'm glad that I get 20 mpg and my commute is 16 miles round trip. 3 weeks between fillups if I don't go out and have fun.

I get 20 mpg avg. by shifting between 3000 and 3500, and cruising at 70 mph when on the highway. My miles are probably 60% hwy and 40% city.

Of course every now and then I'll drive it hard, shifting at or near redline a few times, so I'm not totally avoiding doing what this car was made to do, but I try to drive economically when I can.

Cost of a fill up

This is one of the cheapest places near me in Los Angeles to fill up. 14.13 gallons @ $3.539 per gallon for a total of $50.00. : (

Gambit & funspork,

You guys run on regular gas? Have you run on regular gas all along or just recently? I assume that your cars are still running properly?

If the RX-8 can take regular gas without detrimental effects, then I may as well go with regular gas...

Sorry if I sound like a newbie, because I am. I just got my RX-8 last week.

$3.15 in south florida only a couple a bucks more per tank for premium 93 octane
dont see reason to go with 89 or less for small savings
also i drive over 750 miles a week and average 18 to 20 on highway

only use 93 in my 8 (as recommended). Around here, it's $3.40 / gal. That equals $45 per fill up.

$45 for 210 miles? Absolutely rediculous. Still, wouldn't trade my 8 in for anything (except, maybe, an M3).
