Filmy deposit inside front headlight lense?
anyone have what looks like a light film on the inside of their front cluster lense? reminds me of the film that settles on the inside of your windows when the car is new. I can only really see it when the headlights are on (HIDs) and its only on the drivers side. At first I thought it was backscatter from the lense/housing because the HID lamp is aimed lower on the drivers side, but now I'm thinking its actually some film settling on the lense.

I have it. I had a little condensation when the car was new. I no longer have the condensation problem but I have a film that appears to be on the inside of the HL assy. It looks almost like when armor-all gets on paint.

I have a slight filmy residue inside my passanger side HID. Was there since I've gotten the car, but doesn't seem to be affecting healight performance....so I'll live with it for now.

I just bought my 8 last month and I have it on both housings. It appears to be water spots on the inside of the lens possibly from when it was shipped. I am having my dealer look into it. This problem is a big eye sore. I am sure if more owners check out their headlights they will see it as well.

Be sure that you have the outside thoroughly clean. Use a clear plastic cleaner like Plexus or a fresh claybar. Then you will know for sure that it is on the inside. The lenses are not really clean with just car wash soap.

I've also noticed the film or deposit on the inside of the front lens covers. The taillights seem crystal clear. At first, I thought it was soap film on the outside, but it isn't. You can see that it's on the inner surface. There's probably no degradation of lighting, but this will be really bad if it starts to yellow or builds up.

I had it, I pointed it out to my service guy when i was in for an oil change and they replaced both headlight covers under warranty for me. I think there might even be a TSB out about it.

Did they replace the covers or the full assembly?
I really hope that this is covered byt the warranty because it looks like crap and I only have 8000 miles on the car yet notice the film on the inside at about 4000 miles.
