Finally bought an RX-8
Hi Everybody,
I finally bit the bullet and bought a nice shiny new (to me) RX-8. I've been on the RX-7 boards for quite some time, as the RX-7 was my first car at age 19 back in 2003. Now I have a college degree, a wife, a house, a steady job, and with any luck a kid on the way soon. I decided I've waited long enough to get an RX-8.
I picked up a Velocity Red Mica 2007 Touring with about 23,000 miles, I think I got a pretty good deal on the car too - $18,777 including Tax, Tags, Registration, Fees, etc. The asking price was 18,999, KBB and NADA both put it around $20,150. 6 speed, heated leather seats, and a carfax that shows it was extremely well maintained (regular oil changes, etc.) are all included. No Navi but I have a few portable GPS systems so that's a non issue
I will definitely not be a stranger around here - let me know if you think I got a good deal or not! I'm psyched!

Romboter - I was waiting for somebody to notice that... That was the first thing I asked about when I called them this morning. Apparently the dealership had issues with people walking away with the shifter *****, so they simply remove them until the car is to be test driven / sold. Rest assured, the stock (and somewhat worn) RX-8 shifter **** is included :-)

Thanks everybody!
Also a little research goes a long way - it turns out my car was not properly identified / represented at the dealership... it's not a Touring, it's a Grand Touring :-) I guess I thought it was just a Touring with some of the Grand Touring options, but then I realized it has ALL of the Grand Touring options minus the Nav. Now I'm even MORE excited!

Many congrats to you!
My first car was rotary-powered, as well. I can certainly understand your incredible feeling of coming back to one again.
Have fun with it. And I wish you the very best of luck with your future kid.
