FINALLY Got it back

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know after 24 days in the shop and no loaner car my 8 is back. A bearing on my main shaft broke and tore up all my gears and shifting fork 4 reverse. (I had to tell the mazda mechanic what to check since they had no clue) 6 gears 6 syncronizers, reverse, reverse sync, reverse shifting fork, all springs, main shaft, secondary shaft(I think don't have paper right now) is all what was changed and all under warranty no ?s asked.

that's interesting that they replaced the reverse sync when reverse doesn't have a synchro.

Ok I did nothing but downshift into 2nd at 20mph and it started to rattle/grind on accel! I CAN MOST LIKELY DRIVE A STICK BETTER THAN YOU CAN ANY DAY "DSHIZNIT" SO THAT'S DEF NOT THE PROBLEM. and on the repair slip it say "Rev syncro" so i'm goin by them. How it happened I have no clue all I know is it's fixed and it should b good 4 awhile.

since I have an '04 with a bad 2nd synchro I am preparing for the worst. I have no warranty either. How well would an '06 tranny fit on an '04? Doesn't have a different starter location?

24 days and no loaner car? What the hell is up with that? And why didn't they just replace the transmission unit and be done with it? That would have been a day or two.

I think its odd they have dealer techs rebuilding a trans instead of just swapping it out.

Got mine swapped out, glad I did. Wouldn't trust most tech's to rebuild my shift boot.

I'm almos positive I can drive a stick better than dshiznit! IDK y they didn't replace it just mazda. I know no loaner car it sucked! Also I had to tell them the prob with was a bearing and then it chewed up my gears and shi$ so at least its fixed and has 500 mile on it already and still goin strong (knock on wood) lol

yes in deed no loaner. they kept claiming that they didn't have any and enterprise down the street had no loaners don't ask y but that' how they are. I'm just glad the thing is back but I don't know y they didn't just replace the whole tranny considering they almost replaced everything inside it
