finally saw the Chaparral leather!
Since it was such a beautiful day today here in Austin Texas, I took my Miata out for a spin after lunch. I decided to stop by Mazda South to see if they had any 2004 Miata’s so I could check out the new wind blocker speaker and report about them on the Miata forum. After a quick spin in the Miata, I strolled by all of the RX-8's to drool over them again and I finally saw what IMHO is the best looking one. It was a Titanium RX-8 with the Grand Touring package and of course, the Chaparral and Black leather combo.
Having driven a black cloth RX-8 with only the Sport Package for a weekend and being plenty happy with it, I felt that I would not really care about having leather, sunroof, etc... but that combo juts looks too good. I may have to take that one for a spin and show it to my girlfriend. She likes the RX-8 a lot so I am sure she won't mind.
Anyway, I just had to share my little bit of excitement today.:D

That's the combination that I liked the most when I went shopping for an RX-8. That to me is the sportiest and most striking combination. Luckily they had one on the lot so I was able to drive it home that day.
I too share your enthusiasm and I've had the car for about a month now and it's still exciting every time I drive it.

I've been meaning to find a digital camera and take some pictures. I will make a point to do that this week and post them. Also, strongly consider the appearance package and spoiler, I think those two packages just add a little more sugar to an already sweet looking car.
Good luck in your shopping and I'll let you know when I post them...

I have a Titanium Gray GT M/T w/spoiler and there is a high-res photo of it on my website http://www.bobclevenger.com . Click on "Misc. Pix" I can put more up if you'd like. My avatar shows it as well.
My first choice was Nordic Green, but I would have had to wait for one and I found the TG w/ Chaparral leather and Nav system -- and the dealer agreed to install the CD changer and spoiler; that decided it for me! I really like the TG, possibly even better than the NG.

Thanks khoney
bobclevenger, I liked the green also but I have a black Miata right now and just don't want to get another dark colored car. Titanium is about as dark as I want to go. I usually prefer silver or white, but I have had a silver Miata, a silver 300ZX Twin Turbo, and a silver Prelude Si, so I would like something a bit different.
I like the red as well since it is not a flat red but I have had a red RX-7 turbo, Mustang, Daytona I just think the Titanium/Chaparral looks to good to pass up. It will be awhile before I can get an RX-8 but I will continue to read this forum and visit Mazda South quite often for the occasional test drive. :D
