On top of that, as you pointed out, your post was actually on-topic!

I'm not sure why every alternative-fuel vehicle post turns into a heated debate about the value of alternative fuels. My perspective is much more simplistic - I just find automotive innovation fascinating. If the performance is there as well, I put my money where my mouth is.
My first new car was a 93 Prelude VTEC, which made 190 HP from a NA 2.2L I4. Then I bought a 97 Type R, which made 195 HP from a 1.8L, and was the highest HP/L of any factory NA vehicle (at the time).
Now we've got the RX-8 (front-mount, mid-engine, highest horsepower factory NA rotary ever), the STI (300 HP from a factory turbo 4, don't believe that's been done before), and the Nissan Murano (highest HP/torque ever with a CVT).
I like automotive innovation, and I applaud Mazda for taking the risks, and going to the front-of-the-line on some of the new stuff.

Saturn, FFS, me taking it off topic !! Your response to my post was the only one not to address the topic. And then if you look deeper, before my post daisuke (not having a go at you, just using you as reference) starting on about E85 and GM, which michael followed up.
RevTo9K, its OK for 8_is_enuf to talk about an alternate fuel source but mine is Hijaking. Geez, if you want a thread to stay on topic, close the thread after you open it.
Cmon people, lighten up...Holey cow!

But seriously, did you hear about the nuclear powered RX-8??? :-P Liu Kang wins.

Seriously, though, I really do think that everybody needs to switch to alternative fuels as quickly as humanly possible. The rewards would be overwhelming: if everybody would switch to alternative fuels, there would be SO much more gasoline around for ME! (with apologies to Dogbert)
