depends on what is modified. if suspension is modified by lowering car than warranty will be voided. if engine is modified with turbo or something it will also void warranty. but for cosmetic items no big deal. tires are not warantable through the dealer they are warantied by the tire manufacturor so it makes no difference which tires you buy as they are all warrantied by the tire manufacturer. buying wrong size rims and damaging brake calipers or if the rims make the car lower which will change the suspension may void warranty also. you should check with your local dealer before doing any major modifications. exhaust depends on what gets damaged. also i should mention alot of the aftermarket items could void the warranty at anytime depending on what gets damaged by what. for example if you change the exhaust and you damage the exhaust port because of it, then it is not warranty. but if you replace the exhaust and the interior has a problem then yes it is covereed. so just remeber anything that is damaged by an aftermarket/modified item is not covered by the factory warranty. (hope this clears it up a little)

I handled the stock cover and it was pretty heavy. Oh and i like carbon fiber

LOL! So Tom, you were thinking about changing to the two toned Chapparal leather yourself, huh?

Oh my God! I don't believe I just said that.

It's a sound insulator. If you dynamat the roof and doors, the sound from the stereo in the cabin will sound much better because you won't have any road noise... very nice

It's kinda like soundproofing the inside of your car so you don't hear the outside, nor let the rattles in doors interrupt your listening

Dynamat is a vinyl dampening sheet that absorbs sound and converts it to heat. Most people use it in car audio systems to stop annoying rattles. Not something you want to use in a sports car, it's heavy....

What do you mean quattro exhaust tips? You mean 4 tips?

Sorry, but no.. that's stupid. There is not going to be enough backpressure to warrant 4 pipes coming out of the rear end.

I do not think 4 exhaust tips will fit. I think 2 is is perfect. 4 is overkill

Don't cut the springs because it is very danager, but i don't know how to explain. Why you don't get coilovers? you have money for the 8, why you don't pay a little money for good supensions? i will get the tein suspensions (FLEX with EDFC) for my first mods, then my 8 will get A+ on handling.

how about the fact that the stock shocks are meant for so much travel and the stock springs keeps it at it's optimum point, by cutting the springs, you are permently pre-compressing the shocks. result in less than ideal suspension travel and dempening.

coil over adjust the height of the car by moving the spring and shock height as a whole, without comprimizing the dempening and rebound unision of both the shocks and springs.

I am sure he knows that, just trying to make a getto crack... i hope

i full box of dynamat is what.. 10-15 lbs?

if i worry about weight, i wouldn't consider the 8 (3800lbs curb weight?), it's going to be my daily driven, rabbit eating bulugar whale....

i could save more weight by removing the passager seat alone.

I haven't seen or touch the real 8 yet, but i don't suppose it has very well dempening to begin with. will have to tap on the door to hear if i get the "tin" sound or "thump"

plus it makes the audio so much tighter and compact... :D

The 8 weighs only 3000 lbs. 15 lbs isn't much, but when you dynamat the roof, doors, floor, and trunk it adds up. Besides, car audio is an oxymoron, a very poor environment for a high quality audio system.

for me, I'd get the whole mazdaspeed kit and still thinking of what rims to put on.

I'll put my current Recaro SPG seat in there and maybe an aftermarket steering wheel.

de-bage

I was thinking of de-bage also.

Can you also take off the front bage?

I de-baged my Boxster and loved it. really cleans up the car.

The RX-8 has so many on the back that I really want to de-bage all of it including the front.

do you recommed dental floss for removal? and what do you use to remove the glue?

Thanks
roachman

there is a thread on this somewhere, I think we have decided that the badges will have posts, so the removal will be more intricate.
