hence dynamat the damn roof for me

the floor board is just way too much trouble for me
i would do patches here and there in the truck
and the front fender actually

oh, also tape down all the wires and connectors inside the door panel to minimize rattling

Besides, car audio is an oxymoron, a very poor environment for a high quality audio system.
Thats the dumbest thing i've heard.
Ive had car audio systems that kick the crap out of most home sound system ive heard.

A hatchback is great environment for sound.

it really depends on planning the speaker layout. You have to pick speakers that have correct firing ranges that wont impede on each other. I've heard some digitally certified systems installed with great care that sound fantastic. Unfortunately, if ya do it wrong it will sound like crap. But the same is true for a home stereo. If you get a system designed for a 10ft x 10ft area and put it in a car with at best 5ft x 5ft there is going to be alot of distortion

Please O wise one, explain to me why a hatchback is a great environment for a system?

This should be fun....

Because the fart pipe adds a tonal quality that can't be replicated in a house. Don't forget the license plate rattling as well.

The point im trying to make is that no matter where you are, house or car, you can produce very good sound systems.

To say that a car is a shitty place to get good sound is not true.

I referenced hatchbacks beacause the shape of the rear glass provide is good subwoofer dynamics and general acoustic area versus a large sedan or a truck. Im not claiming that im an audio expert but imo car systems usually sound better in hatchbacks.

Please O wise one, explain to me why a hatchback is a great environment for a system?
Please feel free to donate to my temple. Maybe someday I will provide training... on second thought, nah :D

The car comes pretty complete so the list is pretty short:

Boomerang II (works like Lojack)
Window tint
Clear bra
Illuminated shift ****
Side deflector
16" steelies & winter tires
Rear fog light (imported)
Rear spoiler (maybe)

You may have noticed that I am not adding any performance upgrades - I believe that the basic car will have adequate performance.

clear bra?????? so sort of a like those wraps in granny's house where everything is wrapped up in plastic? ewwww......

why do ppl need to buy those bra things anyways? it looks hideous, if you're so concerned about rock chips or whatever, just get it detailed after a few years or so, painting a bumper is not that expensive.

That illuminated shift **** is nice but I don't know the pricing on it yet... if it's reasonable perhaps I'll do that.

It gives it a very ///M feel to it

I agree that those traditional black bras do look hideous, but you typically cannot see a clear bra until you are about five or six feet from the car. Besides, those little stone chips would drive me crazy!

The first mod I make to every car I own is a precision alignment. The cost is minimal - about $80-150 - and the benefits are larger than any other mod other than forced induction or new tires. I dropped about .5-1 seconds each run autocrossing with my current alignment over the stock one in my Miata. It's the only way to get the handling potential that's in the car.
High performance tires would normally be next, but 18s cost a fortune. Depending on when I get the car, snow tires would be next. High power + wide tires + RWD = no traction on all-seasons in the snow.

After that it's time to look for ways to drop the weight. Who needs floor mats or carpet in the trunk? :D

On a completely unrelated note...

I am currently producing "You have decreased your car's horsepower with stupid mods" stickers for people that drive riced up and similarly anti-power modded cars for people to place on the cars that need them!
