I wish I can heel toe. I fat guy stepped on my right ankle while I was playing basketball and dislocating it a couple of years ago. I still have limited movement with that ankle. I have a hard time turning it to the left. Therefore I cant press the brakes with my toe and hit the gas pedal with my heel at the same time.

Alright, I'll flaunt my ignorance. Why would I want to press the brakes with my toe and hit the gas pedal with my heel at the same time?

Hey its ok to ask...

The heel/toe method requires to brake and blip the throttle (e.g. give it a little gas) w/o removing your foot from the brake. Unless you have three legs, you need to accomplish the feat of holding the brake and giving a smidget of gas to the throttle simulatenously.

There is another thread on the heel/toe discussion on this forum. Also for a good primer on heel toe try this link

Believe me, its a cool technique that will improve your shifting skills. :D

But what exactly is the purpose of the heel and toe trick?

And another question....on my way to school today, I was hearing some leaking of liquid (or at least that's what it sounded like) somewhere when I would shift from 1st to 2nd....what's goin on? I believe it happens right below the gearbox if my hearing is right.

Thanks for the link, most informative. Guess I'm gonna have to learn this heel toe business.
