Flame Kit Question, Anyone know anything about them?
So i was looking at some flame kits for my RX8 and they look pretty cool, The only thing that worries me is that it says i mite have to take off my catalytic converter. I dont really want to do that, Does anyone know if im definitely going to have to or can i just install it with it on? I know the rotary shoots flames already naturally with the right exhaust+midpipe and i would love that but i dont have that kind of money right now

why are you bothering with this?, just get a 200$ midpipe, maybe even cheaper if its used and you'll get naturally occurring flames out of your exhaust. The EGT in the 8 is already pretty hot, I wouldn't suggets helping it get any hotter, you'll ruin your exhaust. Possibly causing you to have to buy a new exhaust which will probably be very expensive.
If you're REALLY short on cash then just gut out your cat, its gonna clog up anyways (eventually) and ITS FREE, and you'll get flames.

Flames = unburnt gas in exhaust getting lit off as it gets the 3rd needed component for fire...air.
Unburnt gas in exhaust = running too rich, wasting gas and power
Cat present in exhaust stream = unburnt gas getting neutralized, still wasting power, restricting flow, only now no flames.
Flame kit = retarded on cars that don't have the EGTs to light off the gas naturally, facepalmingly retarded on cars that do. Any rotary for example.
Clear enough?
