I believe they are the ones with little notches in them around the base to help keep fuel from just sitting on the plug. I believe they are the ones with a "C" in the name when ordering from say www.sparkplugs.com

Good question for anyone not into the engineering of a rotary engine. Each combustion chamber has two spark plugs. Under certain conditions, because the combustion chamber is so long and narrow, two sparks are needed to evenly ignite the air/fuel mixture.

One of the main flooding issues is with the leading plug getting so wet with fuel that it will not spark. It has now been redesigned with slots to make sure it doesn't trap fuel around the tip.

However, if you have had your spark plugs changed in 2005 (say for a 37.5K mile service or if you flooded) then you should have the new design.

Oh, excuse me please! I realize now I should have answered your question with "Quit bugging me and do a search!". I'll be more carefull next time.

Got my car back from the dealer today. I guess that's pretty good service since I just had it hauled last night. New starter and plugs.

My thanks to Brice and msrecant for the explanations. I'm sure I still have the old stinky plugs, having only about 11K miles and never flooded.
