Just a dumb question://
Why would the engine flood for just letting it sit for a month?
I thought flooding was due to shutting off the engine while cold and excess fuel doesn't clear the chambers.????

Try this charge the battery or replace it. Then press the gas pedal ALL the way to the floor and hold it turn the key and hold it until it starts. By flooring it it cuts off the fuel delivery to the motor and will turn over burning off the fuel ans may start but it will run rough and blow some smoke out afterwards.
